When I bought those two 10-22s yesterday...........

...the form had changed. I swooped through the process and checked the box indicating my race as "white", just as I was accustomed to do by several repetitions. The guy handed it back to me and told me I missed question "10(a)" (I think he said). It was a new question right before the one where I checked "white" under race. It was to indicate whether I was Hispanic/Latino, or non-Hispanic/Latino. I guess the concept of "white" Hispanics vs. "non-white" Hispanics that (as far as I know) arose from the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman episode is now memorialized in the federal ATF bureaucracy.

If they wanted to KNOW more details, it's called "DMV", and you're a LEO... not like they're gonna DENY you access!

They changed the form last summer actually. When we were given the new forms, we weren't told why there was a change but it's pretty obvious they are profiling.

Interesting that it happened fairly shortly after the whole Fast N Furious stuff blew up in the media, but that's just my personal observation.

They're just standard 10-22s with blued barrels and walnut stocks. I thought I'd wait until I get them all trussed up in that gatling kit with those 2 bannana-style 25-round mags sticking out on both sides like a billygoat's horns and THEN take a pic. In a way it's a shame to take the stocks off the purty little thangs, but then again it would be an even bigger shame NOT to.

Now I understand ...I'm dying with envy. I've seen one of these , but not in action. My wife and I really like shooting our 10/22 and 10/22 Take Down especially with the 25 rd. Mag.
I have a buddy that may be interested in buying one or both of the wood stocks if you are interested in selling. he picked up a used 10/22 at a garage sale , but it has a Deep 6" Gash in the stock. He has a lead on one , but as of Sat. he is still looking. Just let me know if you are interested.

I would love to make a shoot and greet someday. But they tend to be a loooong way from my shack. Works out to a drive-and-drive-and drive-and shoot-and-greet for me. But someday I mean to make one, by and by.

Ever wonder how many of the folks on here could/would drive to what many if not most flatlanders from the big city regard as a godforsaken little pimple on the @sshole of creation that is:

-359 miles (6 hours if you go hell-fer-leather) west of Richmond (the last hour on a non-interstate 4-lane that "furriners" tend to complain about being too curvy and mountainous)
- 180 miles (3 hours if you go hell-fer-leather) west of Roanoke (same last hour)
-West of ALL of West-by-God Virginia
- as close to the Mississippi River and Lake Michigan as it is to the Eastern Shore
- Closer to 7 other state capitols than it is to Richmond, VA.
- hasn't got a 7-11 or a Starbucks within 50 miles

Just to come to a shoot-and-greet? Be a shame if'n I throwed a party and nobody came.

Funny you should mention that. Matter of fact, I know of at least two places around here where GPS is off by a football field or two. One of them's right here at the office. Guess the wrinkles in the map they scanned didn't match the wrinkles in the landscape. The UPS guy whines all the time that his handheld alarms everytime he delivers to the office because it says he ain't here; he's somewhere else. The black box in my last ride might have gotten me divorced if I'd ever been up to anything that got me investigated because when I was parked in my driveway it showed me in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn.
