Starbucks Closes Newtown, CT Store to Prevent Open Carry Event Planned for Friday Evening

Today pro Second Amendment supporters showed up in force at Starbucks all over the country to show their support for Starbucks. The coffee chain has repeatedly refused to ban guns in their shopes, despite numerous protests and boycotts against the policy.

An open carry event was planned for Friday evening at the Newtown, CT Starbucks, as they were at numerous other Starbucks locations across the country.

Sorry, All. I think its pretty insensitive and needlessly provocative. Better ways and places to show support for SBUX policy.

I cannot blame them. They have a business to run. No matter how we feel.

What bothers me is that I didn't hear of the event until this evening. I'd have gone to Starbucks today had I known.

Same here. I'd have skipped the Tim Horton's for the SBUX today...

I've opened carried in SBUX down here in Chester-Hell quite often.

The one at Rt 10 never even blinks, and I even got a compliment on my custom leather work I did on my holster.
