Re: 9mm or .40??
Flip a coin and you'll more than likely be happy with your decision. The 9mm people will talk about higher capacity, less recoil, lower cost to shoot, and greater availability (although in this environment nothing seems to be available). I have seen 40 hang around on the shelf longer than 9mm in my local Walmart, but eventually everything gets purchased.
My next purchase is a Glock in 40 because that works with the system I want. I can use the existing magazines and get a conversion barrel and shoot 357. I can also get a 9mm barrel and 9mm Glock mags and shoot that too. I figure I could practice with 9mm and carry with 40. It would also be a good SHTF platform because of the ammo options available to one gun.

the guy is talking under $300. I don't think he has looked online for pricing lately. I might have to "accept" his price although the guilt might eat at me.

He asked, you accepted. No guilt.

Bingo. The term "priced to sell" exists for a reason.mtbinva wrote:He asked, you accepted. No guilt.

co-worker who is basing price on what he paid for it in the past. I guess he doesn't want to gouge me.

Re: 9mm or .40??
I have both 9mm and .40, I carry both off and on. I prefer shooting my Glock19 as it shoots very well. I do enjoy shooting my M&P40c as well as a full size Ruger in 40. I will say the only reason 9mm wins is just because I am more accurate by a hair than my 40's. Both are fun to shoot.
Re: 9mm or .40??
I have a Glock 27, Gen 3. It's a subcompact .40 and I LOVE it.
I love the .40 way more than the 9mm. I also reach for it more than my G30SF .45 ACP as my EDC.

Either works fine. My preference is for 9mm because practice ammo is cheaper and you get a few more rounds. I do like the .357SIG, but it's typically loaded hotter (between .40SW and 10mm), so I don't mind loosing a few rounds of capacity.

Sig P239 with 2 mags and Hogue rubber grips (and originals) along with 50-100 rounds of ammo, case and lock with less than 500 rounds through it for $250..... should I even be questioning this? guy has 2 of these and this was his wifes before she passed. I think he is trying to get rid of some memories.

I prefer 9mm, but hell, at that price, I'd pick up another common round just to have it!

That's a steal. Get it. If you don't like it, flip it for something you do.
Re: 9mm or .40??
For that price I'd buy it just to have another weapon in the house.
Re: 9mm or .40??
Shot and bought an hour ago at the NRA range. Learned that left eye dominant mean i will be shooting with the left hand from now on.

Re: 9mm or .40??
You can mostly train yourself away from it. I also used to be left dominate/right handed, but now am right/right. Many hours over the years of forcing myself to shoot both eyes open on high-mag/long range rifle platforms. Ideally for SD/HD you want to learn to shoot both eyes open as it provides much better situational awareness.DryBones wrote:Shot and bought an hour ago at the NRA range.
