the 20 million dollar vacations.... are those needed? I don't begrudge a vacation. But we don't spend 20 million only a small fraction of that for 4.

I think some people would apologize for Obama if he went to the National Archives and took a crap on the Constitution. (In fact, he's all but done so - figuratively, at least) That degree of waste and excess is unconscionable and intolerable whether GW Bush or BH Obama is POTUS.

But in your zeal to apologize for the Liar in Chief, you should at least try not to overlook the point. The point is, there has been NO cutback on personal coddling while Obama has threatened the taxpayers with Armageddon and even gone to the ridiculous lengths of cutting out Whitehouse tours unless he is allowed to raise taxes - - - AGAIN! When you add THAT factor, you can add "ridiculous" to "unconscionable and intolerable". The article, if y'all read it, talks about our country going from a POTUS that scolded the Whitehouse staff about using too many pencils in the 1st quarter of the 20th Century to one who blows $20 million on a long weekend in the 1st quarter of the 21st Century. And that’s the retrospective roadmap of the road to hell that our grand handbasket is so merrily rollicking down.
