Sen. Cruz deserves a medal for challenging Feinstein

Post by sboyajian »

She failed to answer the question and when she did, showed so much duplicity it hurt.

I guess the question is, why exactly is the Judiciary Committee even voting on this? Did I miss a House vote on it? Why would it go through a Senatorial Jud. Com. before it goes through the House? It looks like it's headed to Senate floor in April, where it will likely, and expectantly die, but I'm confused about how it got there.

This would be funny if it wasn't true but if you watch MSNBC or any of the MSM outlets they say she moped the floor with Sen. Cruz.
They are so dishonest it's shameful.

Either house of the Legislature may propose bills, but all bills for raising revenues must originate in the House of Representatives (Article 1, Section 7 of the Constitution).

It will be interesting to see what happens to it on the Senate floor, if it ever makes it out there. Per Article 1, Section 5, the Senate makes it's own rules. As they currently stand, the majority leader for the Senate controls the schedule. Senator Reid, who actually has a B rating with the NRA, probably doesn't want to touch it with a ten foot pole. He is an experienced politician, who may recognize even if he herded all the Democratic Senators to vote yes, they would still need to pick up some Republicans to halt a filibuster. Then it wouldn't stand a very good chance of passing in the House. Meanwhile it could conceivably cost the Democrats the Senate, if the Republicans find viable candidates for those seats. This article lists some that are up for grabs. I know WV's Rockefeller has announced his retirement plans, so he might be counted on for a yes vote, but others might not be so cooperative:

Of the states with Senate seats up for grabs, Alaska, Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and West Virginia are all pro-gun in their legislation and have senators going up for re-election. These are the states that are concerns with regards to Obama’s gun plan, meaning the Senators are likely to vote against the plan despite being Democrats. Not only that, but with the Democrats holding a mere five-seat majority, these states can easily swing the vote in one way or another, deciding the country's fate based on their constituent sentiment.
You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?

Reid said reluctantly the bill would get a vote on the Senate floor. I don't think anyone is expecting this to pass because of the Dems that are up for reelection in gun friendly states.

She's a media whore. Her logic is so flawed, I have a tough time understanding how or why ANYONE would listen to her.

Our country got SO dummied up its scary!
