Baltimore Antique Arms Show

Post by Donkey »

There is no question in my mind that this is the BEST gun show in the world:

http://www.baltimoreshow.com/

Be there in Timonium Maryland on Saturday March 16th and Sunday March 17th. Play "where's Donkey:" I will be there -- both in front of and behind the tables -- in a red plaid flannel shirt partially obscuring a tee-shirt with some democratic slogan on it.

Find me, and I will buy you a beverage of your choice.

You gonna serve some gruel? Maybe some mead? We gonna harpsicord like it's 1899?

Pass.

So the BEST gun show in the world is where basically most of the firearms ever produced aren't shown because it's illegal for civilians to own or prohibited by the organizers?

I'll pass too.

Oh come on guys, do you feel naked without cordite?

Does it help to know that the Europeans were using it since the 1870s -- so you will get your share of smokeless and magazines if that is really what you want? You can always find shows with Kimbers/1911s/AR-15s. But where else are you going to see -- and might just be lucky enough to buy -- a dozen cased Colt Navys with Tiffany grips; ivory inlayed german wheel locks from the 1600s; Boutet flintlock pistols with gold-starred barrels that once belonged to Napoleon; pepperbox rifles; Patterson carbines -- 1000 tables of stuff like that.

They also usually have a great selection of vintage water cooled machine guns, if large caliber, military and ugly are the only things that float your boat.

Sure, we all love to rock-and-roll: but the world would be a meaner place without Bach.
