Ah, the old wood stove. Nothing like the smell of singed cotton on a cold day.
We had about 12" here at one time today but at least half has melted away.
No power since 2:30am and don't look for it for several days with all the trees down in the area.
My little brother in Daytona just told me of their horrible day. 45 low and 65 high with blue skies. "Just Terrible. We got power back at 8:45 tonight. 12 hours on generator.
Weirdest thing was driving into work yesterday... Raining in Chester-hell. Drove up 95 North... nothing, get off Bryan Park...nothing, get a lil' ways down 64 West, and parham rd started having snow... then a lil' more... then more...
By the time work said "Okay! We're done!" it was 09:10, and I went to GreenTop (FrontWheel Drive Honda's are like friggin' dog sleds), stayed there till about 11:30 chatting up folk, looked out, and the the snow had gotten a bit deeper, no worries.
Popped the highway, and slow going, but by the time I had reached the Bryan Park interchange again?
Barely anything...
That was the weirdest "Cut line" in weather I have EVER seen!
Late to the party. We got 7" before the rain mixed in with the snow. The only snow left is the stuff the plows left on the corners. That should be gone by the time I get home.
Power was back on today! Came on around 1400, the joys of living in the woods. Keep your subdivision, I'll keep my ability to shoot off my back porch naked !!!! Oh, and I'll keep my generator.
