One caveat about Texas, should it actually secede don't be so sure it will be the Republic of Texas, it is equally likely to immediately rejoin Mexico.

Spent my time in the Army in TX...it was so hot!

As I understand the deal, they can split into 5 states. 1 or more of which would likely be very much into rejoining Mexico. Pls, do that. Out with the garbage.

My wife having worked in Williamsburg for 28 years , 4 months , 4 days has seen the change from quaint little Colonial Town to a Commercial Mecca . Maw and Paw run and owned business , restaurants , shops , Motels and even "The Frigging Pottery" all are owned by Investment Groups , Out of State Banks and Foreigners . It's getting worst every day ! Damn Yankees move here to retire then want to change VA to exactly what they left behind !

Last June we went to Kerrville Texas for a 6 Day RV Rally...Liked the area so much we even stayed for another week after the Rally ended. The 2nd. day there I went on a Golfing outing ( Just to fill a foursome )..
Right next to the Golf Course as a very Nice outdoor Rifle Range. I had to check it out as soon as we finished Golfing...Great Range with the nicest staff ...Best that I have ever seen at any Range that I have ever been to.This Guy Dean that I was talking to ...for about 20 minutes ask if I had time to do some shooting with a pretty full week. He then handed me their schedule for that week and told me to just show up and we will find something to shoot. Then he told me he was the Owner and he was there when ever they were open. I went there 4 times before we came home . I even took 7 RV Buddies 1 day...We had a great time and all want to do it again. Then I had to show them my Gun Storage Locker in My RV. Some were shocked but got over it real quick , Most thought it was really Cool.

I don't know if we will relocate to Texas ( in early June it felt like middle of August in VA ) but it was very nice. We will visit there again , SOON !

My two cents:

First of all I love Alaska, I grew up there as a military brat for most of my childhood. However, I would stay away from the west coast due to the contamination of the food chain from Fukushima. They have tested fish off the coast of CA and found high levels of cesium and other radioactive particles.

Kentucky is closer and I have family there.

I Have family in Alabama (don't know how I feel about there, don't know the gun laws there)

We are not moving unless we lose the fight... if laws are passed where my rights are ilegal here we will move the family. I will vote and fight for as long as I am able, however, when/if they start creating laws were my constitutional rights are taken away, and they start to confiscate "items" that are "bad". I will move me and mine.

I would like to remind everyone of Col. and Congressman Davy Crockett. His final words to Congress....You can all go to H#LL, I am going to Texas.

See you all there or in AZ. :hysterical:

I'm from MA living in Henrico and I don't think I could deal with the amount of looney libs up there, I moved to get away from them, NoVA may actually be worse than MA for that stuff.

I guess the difference between Northerners and YOU is on the rare occasion I run into an ignorant Southerner that has an issue with me based on where I'm from and you've most likely never been is I don't blame ALL of them for that one a-hole. Guess I'm just not as ignorant as you.

NYer and proud of it. Where I live it was all conservative and good people. Sure we're loud and can be rude but did you know that when 9/11 happened it was the largest boat lift in history? All volunteers. We all came together for a common cause. I worked in NYC for 20 years and yet I had more in common with the people in MS then NYC. Came down here for employment and nova is like NYC. You're right TX might be where I end up but were losing ground and there won't be any place to go for us..Countries changing because those that do vote seem to want things for free without working for it. Can you imagine 8 percent unemployment not counting those that stopped looking or the massive number that are underemployed and yet you still win a presidential election. Heck even Carter should have won that election!

There is a reason a NY state flag is in the Alamo you know.

If I ever wind back up in TX I'm settling down in New Braunfels.

As I have stated, there are THREE types who move here:

"Come-Heres", they want the culture, they accept they're NOT from their original state. They want to be a part of our community, not change it.

"Transplants", they move here because of marriage, a job, or school. They hate it here, complain about us, and our culture. They cannot WAIT to move back (nor can we).

"Carpetbaggers", these are the worst. They move here because they want to take advantage of our low taxes, and good cost of living. They put us down, call us names, and make fun of our accents (If you can ACTUALLY BELIEVE A JOISEY C/B makes fun of OUR accent! ). They want to change my Commonwealth into some amalgamation of that sh'tstate they left.

Hate Carpetbaggers, and Transplants. Love the Come-Here's. I have a few Come-here's in my circle of peeps. Wouldn't trade them for the world.

I believe I am a Come-Here. I love the state, I love the culture, my babies were born here so this is my home. I don't want it to change, but I know that I am a drop in the bucket in terms of voting... so change may happen. I will not allow me and mine to be in danger, and If I have to leave I will.

Ehh take it as you will.

I've never met a fellow transplant that wasn't a "come-here". I think you guys forget most Northern states where no different than here before the libtards wrecked it. I'm from MA which is the worst of all New England States, but NH,VT,and ME are no different freedom wise than here. But I like the nice weather and no winters. I'm the first person to tell those idiots to go back where they came from and it's a safe assumption that most transplants would as well. We moved here to escape those idiots remember?

I beg to differ.

I'm sitting around 5 "Yankees" right now... only 2 have "Come-Here", the other 3 are "Transplants/Carpetbaggers", and if I have to hear ONE MORE F"CKINGTIME about how BAD our food is compared to up North?

I'm printing out the highway map with 95 NORTH HIGHLIGHTED!

Funny thing about Mass; most of my favorite Yankees come from there. Oddly, the ones that annoy me the most also come from there.

Trouble will always follow if not dealt with effectively. You can become an activist here in VA if you like. Plenty of. Options to make things happen the way you want them too. How do you think the liberal elites took over NOVA? I say stay stand and fight. If we don't do it here then no place is safe. Look what happened to Colorado. Who woulda thought that a whistle could substitute for a gun when you're being raped.

They threw money around?

I haven't met any of the "carpet baggers" or even the "transplants" here. And there is alot of Northerners in the Roanoke area.

Don't know how they vote or their politics or anything but they've all been very vocal in how much they love it here.

Food is good too in this area.

Wow thank you all for the replies. Sadly with Virginia, the damage has already been done, and that needle is deep in the vein. Her only hope I feel, for those of us who love the state, but don't feel the love back, is for the rest of the state break off from NoVA. The scary thing up this way, is if you run into a day where there is a two hour delay, or a federal holiday, those of us that feed that beast get on the road to go do what we do best, and an hour commute, becomes 20 minutes. I am in the plumbing industry (the sales side) and you would be amazed some of the "no income housing" going up around here. If you walked into one of these places you would be physically Ill (if actually pay taxes that is) more luxurious than most high dollar hotels. Paid by? You! Pool tables, top of the line faucets & shower heads, walk down the halls in a building that's been in service for a year, and you'd think a lazy nuke went off inside, place trashed, with a lingering smell of alcohol, pot smoke, and another smell I can't quite identify (logic leads me to crack smoke). You think you can beat that playing by "the rules" of being PC? I am not saying Virginia isn't worth fighting for, it is, but it will only prevail as a slightly smaller version than she has been. Let her northern part become the success story of Detroit on it's own. We've got Warner,Kaine, Bob, and Zerobama here. Say what you will of Rick Perry and his lack of Hollywood style debate skills. In the new reality we live in, take a look at how he runs his state, a bit of fresh air in my book and the grass does appear greener (ok browner, is browner a word?) for an uneducated, intolerant, conservative like me clinging to my faith, morals, eithics and my guns.

CSnyder, if you feel like you must go, then go. Go with our blessings and scout out the land. Come back here and tell us what you find. I fear we all may be following you in years to come.

A word of warning....don't open carry there. It is illegal.
