YEP! It's official!
According to my Doctor? I do not need meds anymore!
I can increase testing to twice a day, but my A1C is 5.1, and that's NORMAL FOR NON-DIABETICS! I dropped quite a few points since my last visit. I literally dropped 2 points in a year...
Behaving is a lil' easier now, because I see the results.
Cholesterol went up a bit... but that's as easy as reducing some bacon/cheese intake.

Re: YEP! It's official!
This:
Paleo Diet:
1.) NO PROCESSED MEATS! IE: Bologna, Sausages, etc.
2.) GRILL MEATS ONLY! No fried, or pan seared… Baked must have a raised platform so meat not sits in GREASE.
3.) VEGGIES CAN BE RAW PREFERABLY. You can have them BROILED, GRILLED OR BAKED! No boiled, or steamed. Removes nutrients.
4.) LIMITED CHEESE! No heavy aged cheeses, or processed cheese (Velveeta).
5.) NO CARBS! NONE! NO POTATOES! NO GLUTTEN! NO RICE! PERIOD! NONE! NADA! ONE EXCEPTION! BEANS! ALL YOU WANT!!!!
6.) Snacks are LOW Glycemic Fruits, and NUTS with LITTLE SALT! Not UNSALTED THOUGH! Sea salt preferably.
7.) LIMITED ASPARTAME DRINKS, LIMITED SPLENDIA (SUCROLOSE), ALL THE WATER YOU WANT!
8.) Unsweetened coffee, and tea just fine! REAL milk, or cream fine! NO CREAMERS!
9.) EXERCISE! Walk one day, lift weights the next, but STRETCH EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! Start slow, work up to it.
Do this for the first six months, then slowly add carbs to only 100-150 carbs a day.
Once you're BGL's (Blood Glucose Levels, you use testing strips) are below 160 one hour after eating a meal, you can increase carbs in increments of 20-25...(Normal one hour after meals are 140-160, Fasting levels should be 70-120)

Way to go, REV!
I've sort of been off the wagon since Thanksgiving. But I'm mostly back at the foot of the cross now.

This would kill me. I love my carbs. And the wife hates it when I eat beans.
But on the bright side, congrats your success.

Congrats. And thanks for posting that diet plan; I'll be passing that on to my mother who is currently managing her diabetes with a refridgerated product based on a platform of gila monster spit.

The best part? When you remove carbs, and stay with grilled meats?
You're enjoying your meals, but not eating nasty mess.
Steaks? With a salad? And some cheese? And a touch of low-fat ranch?
HELLSYEAH!

I don't know what any of this means, but anytime you don't need meds to treat mental illness is a good thing! Congrats!!

Well done Rev. Don't forget to thank the boss upstairs.

Congrats.... My A1c is holding steady at 5.6 and once the weather wams up I suspect it will drop when I get to working on our property in WV....
