Beretta AL2 semi 12 gauge- what do you know about them

Post by Molfeens »

Ladies and gentlemen,

Have a coworker who has one, it is actually a very pretty rifle, nice engraving on the receiver, furniture is in great shape.

He is trying to sell it so I am wondering obviously what it might be worth but more importantly what anyone knows about the gas system, availability of parts etc? I buy my guns to shoot them, I need a sporting clays rifle and this seems to be a great choice, it's old, it's unique but I have no clue if it is a good rifle or not and don't want to assume quality or price just because its a beretta.

Thoughts?

I don't know that I've ever fired a Beretta semiauto shotgun. I own a Beretta over/under, but I've never fired it.

Here's one that sold at internet auction for $355.75. Looks an awful lot like a Remington 1100 to me. If it did happen to be built on the Rem 1100 patent, it's probably a pretty good shotgun - if it ain't plumb wore out.

Gun-crazy? Me? I'd say the gun-crazy ones are the ones that don’t HAVE one.
