Re: WTB Marlin Marlin 1894C 38/357 lever action
I just got a ROSSI 38/357 Lever action for 200 less than what you will pay for the Marlin. ( if you can even find one - I tried ) ... Taurus makes the Rossi
I LOVE THIS GUN ...

I guess there's not many of these out there. Thanks for the recommend on the Rossi. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to that option. Might even be a better option opposed to the new Marlins. I was told that an older Marlin would be the way to go - better fit, finish and function....

I have run 500+ rounds in my Rossi now.... flawless.

I prefer the Marlin due to the side eject.
I found mine at Greentop in the used section. If you go to their web site, they list all their used guns in a PDF file you can download (they don't list all their guns in their little online store thing, so make sure you download the PDF, it is updated weekly)

From their homepage (they've redone their site!)
" If you are interested in purchasing a used gun, we invite you download our Used Gun PDF. This list is updated daily with our current inventory and spans several different makes and models including handguns, rifles, and shotguns. In this pdf, you can view specific makes and models, bbl, finish, condition, and price."
It's a daily update.

And if Bruce Dickinson wants more cowbell, we should probably give him more cowbell!
Re: WTB Marlin Marlin 1894C 38/357 lever action
Thanks guys - still looking. Have been keeping an eye on Greentop - but even lever-action guns are in short supply. Lot of folks holding on to what they have and buying whatever they want even if they aren't on a ban list. I love seeing it - even if it's frustrating. I can;t even buy primers for reloading. Never thought that would happen.

I've seen one 1894 at each of the last two gun shows I attended, both .44 mag, both mint condition, both under $500. Am kicking myself for not having bought one.

44 mag would be a lot of fun. Can reload that, too! A little pricey on the ammo side for plinking, but I'll take what I can get. Maybe will try to make the Richmond gun show this weekend.FiremanBob wrote:I've seen one 1894 at each of the last two gun shows I attended, both .44 mag, both mint condition, both under $500.
