Years ago it was suggested that, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." But since all the doctors are now Muslim, I've found that a bacon sandwich works great!

If real, I'll bet at least one Secret Service agent loses his job over this one.
The only thing on AP in the past 48 hours talks about Obama putting the "Taxation without Representation" DC plate on the limousine.
I've crawled through http://www.apimages.com and can't find it though. My guess is it's 'shopped.

"... a saying that is growing popularity..."? It's a recent thing? Who knew...
And if Bruce Dickinson wants more cowbell, we should probably give him more cowbell!

Is there a link that goes with that? Interested to see if they have a story behind how someone managed to do that.

I knew that wasn't Latin, so I looked it up. I was fairly certain it's Greek. Wikipedia (hardly an unassailable source, I concede) says It's ANCIENT Greek. That makes sense, since it is said to have been spoken by King Leonidas when the Persians demanded that the Spartans lay down their arms at the Battle of Thermopylae. A good catchphrase for the oposition to Obama's assault on the Second Amendment? Maybe, but remember that the bad guys did in fact come and take them. Everybody at Thermopylae died.

But they did put a huge hurt on the Persians there, particularly for how few Greeks there were. Overall, the Greeks did successfully defend against the Persians.dorminWS wrote:I knew that wasn't Latin, so I looked it up. I was fairly certain it's Greek. Likewise, the defenders of the Alamo flew a flag depicting a cannon, with the words in English: "Come and take it". The Mexicans did just that, and took no prisoners. They eventually lost the war, though.

Absolutely. Thermopylae enabled the Greeks to assemble sufficient strenth to eventually repel the Persians, as well as inflicted serious losses on them. It was a great strategic victory for the Greeks and an heroic and inspiring stand. But when it was all said and done, the guys who were at Thermopylae were still dead. Same thing at the Alamo.
My point was not that the unconstitutional gun grab should not be resisted. It was that the resistance cannot be expected to be painless; at least not for everybody.

Agreed - winning a "war" can mean losing some "battles".

Freedom is never free and I am sure everyone who holds the Constitution as the law of the land understands that. Those that look at it as optional know nothing of sacrifice.dorminWS wrote:>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>GeneFrenkle wrote: But they did put a huge hurt on the Persians there, particularly for how few Greeks there were. I prefer latin: Mors Tyrannis Sit; Translation: let there be death to all tyrants!
I would prefer this on the virginia flag over "Sic sempur tyrannis" such always to tyrants.

Leonidas, and the sacrifice of the 300 Spartans gave/gives motivation for anyone who faces an uphill battle that they may/may not lose.
It's the thought that, "I do this, because I have to, not because I want to."
Keep that in mind when it's a felony to have a high cap mag, and/or a Evil Black Rifle, without registration, or NFA tax.
