:enlighten: It's definitely something to pause and think about... Sometimes it just seems like you need more than one to just not feel under-dressed and unprepared. Maybe we can compromise and promise to not shoot them both at the same time. It does seems odd that you can't carry a concealed dirk or switchblade.

There is no statue in VA that prohibits the carry of multiple arms if you are lawfully able to carry each of them singularly. Just like open carry, no statue against it = lawful activity. The laws and paperwork would be unreadable if they had to account singular/plural, gender neutrality, etc. Ever try to read a document written that way? It's awful.

Yes, that's why I (the party in the first part) don't do state and/or federal gov't (parties of the second part) contracting anymore.

It seems that when a restriction is intended that the state does not miss the opportunity to be specific. Yes, "a" could be taken to mean "one", but I interpret it as "any". My M&P9 is "a" handgun and so is my Shield "a" handgun. Nothing says I can't have both in the same sock if I were so inclined. The DMV info on vehicle **registration is all in singular form, too, but no one interprets that as a restriction on how many vehicles you may own.

**Note that I said registration and not operation of multiple vehicles, which is physically impossible for most of us.

Who knows, or if it even matters. I went to the GA once and declared my CCW and pointed out my pistol. Said it might arouse somebody if I put all that on the conveyor so they waved me through. A SPD got upset and wanted me searched and I pulled everything out the wand beeped on. Can you believe he got upset that I didn't send, or declare, a pocket knife through the conveyor! :hysterical: I forgot it was in there with the spare mags. Go figure.

Last time I checked the crazy part was that even though you have a CHP and you are carrying a handgun into the General Assembly, it is still prohibited to carry a knife. Figure that one out. :bangin:
