Thanks again everyone.
I went this afternoon to meet Luis and check out Sterling Arsenal. What an amazing store. This place is not the typical gun store. Everyone was super friendly, there are no counters dividing you from the staff and the kick ass inventory. They actually have a couch and a huge flat screen, watched a little football, checked out the displays and SAW MY SUPPRESSOR!
Still can't believe I won! I actually was referred to Sterling Arsenal by a friend because I wanted to get a .22lr can. I also needed a new local gun shop since I just moved to Ashburn. So, somehow in the process of researching NFA requirements for Suppressors and needing a new local gun store and smith I discovered Sterling Arsenal. After speaking to Luis initially I started researching a trust for the Suppressor. My research brought me to the VGOF website. Then all of the sudden there is announcement for the third drawing which I thought had already passed. Cut to today and I somehow get to build a new AR (this will be my second in my collection) with a free upper, suppressor, trust and tax stamp. That ladies and gentlemen is one heck of a happy ending to my story and what makes for a VERY GOOD WEEKEND.
Luis gave me a few great suggestions and actually offered me a slight variation to the kit. I am contemplating his suggestions and depending on the interest level and feedback to this post will start a separate one to explain further and ask for the forum user's input. Having said that, if anyone is interested in hearing more about the build and the overall process please let me know via this post or PM. If folks are interested I would provide updates, ask for input, post pictures and invite anyone interested to come shoot when it's done!
VGOF, Sterling Arsenal and Arsenal attorneys, once again my sincerest thanks not only do I get to do a build but you have provided me the GREATEST JUSTIFICATION TO MY WIFE for why we now need to not only complete the build but potentially SBR it, get a .22lr can for the Sig Mosquito and a threaded 10/22 barrel. Somehow I went from one free tax stamp to potentially 2 more. I had read in many a place that NFA items were contagious but this is a little silly!
