Newbie from Yorktown

Moved to Virginia last year after retiring from the Air Force. I spent 17 of 21 years overseas where owning guns was difficult so I'm now trying to get back into collecting, shooting, hunting, and whatever else life throws my way. Like many others, I will be searching for some AR's before our beloved politicians find a way to remove them from the shelves for good.

I'm also looking for a good hunting club if anyone has any information, I would be very appreciative.

Do not know of any hunting clubs, but the LaFayette Gun club in Seaford is a good shooting club.

Thanks wally626, I found them a while back and they do have a good club. Plan on getting out to the indoor range this week to test out my new M&P Shield.

As for the AR, try gunbroker.com and gunsamerica.com, but be prepared to pay. At this point everyone is basically sold out so you're purchasing what amounts to private stock, but the their only going to let it go, and thus possibly deprive them of it's use forever if a ban is imposed, for a pretty penny. I wouldn't count on the backorder working out in 2013 as everyone has stacked those so deep that it's unlike that you will get one any time soon.

Only you can decide if it is worth it, but if you pay $2-3k for an AR and they ban them, you'll be glad you did. If you pay $2-3k for an AR and they don't, you paid a lot of money to get one now vice in a year. Make your choices and pay your money...if the future were certain either way, ARs would either be going for much, much more than they already are or there wouldn't be a shortage at all.

If I have to pay that much for an AR, it would have to be high end...so it looks like I may go without if this thing actually happens. I refuse to pay top dollar for low end just because of this threat. We beat it once, we'll beat it again.
