Let's hear your best hangover cures
Can't wait for this miserable year to end. No doubt we're going to need a good hangover cure tomorrow.
The Classic Jeeves Concoction:
1 raw egg
1/4 oz. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 oz. Tabasco
Stir and down in one shot. Then lie down and pray for death.
Happy New Year!

Best thing a bottle of gatorade or other sports drink and a hearty breakfast. But then again it can all be prevented by drinking as much water as alcohol the night before.
So skal, prost, salute, cheers drink up my friends!

Sauerkraut juice.
Ask any Romanian and he'll tell you the same in a heartbeat.
And I have some scientific study to prove it

For us Coasties, you either bite the snake that bit ya, or guzzle coffee like it's going out of style. I prefer a combo of both. This year I opted out of stupidly drinking so much and drank a ton of water prior to going out, and having 2 bottles of water for the ride home. 7 (super tiny watered down) drinks in 6 hours aint bad anyways. It's practically under the "one drink per hour" rule, which I dont believe counts in eating food or drinking water in between.

Gatorade for dehydration and chewing gum for cotton mouth. I usually just start chugging water the morning before I'm going to be drinking, why cure when you can prevent?

mildly demented...
Re: Let's hear your best hangover cures
I'm with SB, prevention trumps treating.
However, should you over imbibe, from my medic days:
A hangover is actually a state of dehydration and toxicity (ethyl alcohol is a poison after all), drinking and eating water while you drink will do much to curb or even prevent a hangover; failing that there is little one can do beyond rehydrate and wait. NSAIDs help with the headaches if you can keep them down.

As has already been said, Pedialyte is probably the best thing I can think of to combat hangovers. It has the same rehydrating ability as Gatorade, but since it's designed for much younger people, it's easier to digest.
I don't make plans. That's how "premeditated" gets thrown around the court room.
Re: Let's hear your best hangover cures
Many years ago, I would stop whenever my lips started going numb and take a couple of Advil before bed. I'd also sleep as long as possible. Other than sleeping all day, I don't think this actually helped anything. I gradually moved towards the prevention method and now I rarely drink enough to give myself a hangover to start with. I've heard of EMTs partying all night and giving themselves a saline IV in the morning for a speedy recovery. I can deal with needles but they're like spiders. I don't go looking for opportunities to play with them. If I liked having a hole in my arm, I probably would have tried this years ago.

In the Marines our cure was early morning 3 mile run (to sweat it out) a nice hot shower and a hearty breakfast (if you could keep it down).

Re: Let's hear your best hangover cures
Interesting that kelu says kraut juice is the time-honored hangover cure in Romania. That’s the same thing all the older generation of hill folks would tell you out here in the Appalachian Mountains. Their twist on it was something like, “Go out to the spring house, take the lid off the kraut crock, steal a cabbage stalk (always stuck down into the salted chopped cabbage in the middle of the top of the crock), eat the stalk and then drink as much juice as you can stand.” The Romanians and the Hillbillies couldn’t possibly both be wrong about that, I don’t reckon. Poor man’s Gatorade, I guess.
As for me, I also have refrained for a long time from excessive intake. Part of living long enough to know better, I guess. But I also find that in addition to drinking plenty of non-alcoholic (but also non-sugared) liquids while I am guzzling booze, it really seems to helps me avoid adverse consequences to drink my liquor straight – and especially to avoid mixed drinks with high sugar content. Don’t think I’ve had even a hint of a hangover since I started drinking only vodka, vodka martinis, or single-malt scotches.
Of course, Pappy would have sneered and said, “Just learn to hold yer damned likker, boy!”

Knowing my limit has been the best preventative cure. Enjoyed alcohol for years, but never been drunk.
