We are now fighting MAJOR battles simultaneously on two fronts: federal and state.

At the state level I'm seeing a real lack of a spinal column from some Republicans and a lot of "trash-the-Constitution" bills from some Democrats.

I'm really surprised and disappointed in some of the Republicans for what I'm seeing as cowardice. It's like the old cartoon where a small mouse comes in the kitchen and a massive elephant is in the corner cowering and shaking. A cowering elephant, how appropriate.

And while many Republicans are turning to jello, some Democrats are acting evil, busily putting in gun-control bills - bans on "assault weapons", larger capacity magazines, and more. The usual suspects are behind the attack on the Constitution, including McEachin and Morrissey.

Be prepared for a big fight in the General Assembly this year. REMEMBER LOBBY DAY IS ON JANUARY 21 FROM 9 AM TO 12 NOON.


GOVERNOR BOB MCDONNELL SHOWS LEADERSHIP BY SUGGESTING AND LOOKING INTO ARMING SCHOOL OFFICIALS

Bob McDonnell said recently that he wants to form a commission to look into arming school officials and other possible solutions. I'm sure he's getting pounded by the "Liberty - we don't need no stinkin' liberty" crowd. So let's let him know that we appreciate his leadership in this and encourage him to support allowing school personnel to be able to protect themselves and the students.

Suggested message:

Your suggestion about arming school officials would greatly increase safety in our schools with very little or no cost to the government. Please support Bob Marshall's bill in the 2013 legislative session that will do just that!

Time is of the essence. The outrage from the massacre in Connecticut has sent a message to future criminal monsters and terrorists as to how they can do massive emotional damage to Americans. It's only a matter of time before either a copy cat or a terrorist does it again.

Done. My wife is a teacher. Why should she have to sacrifice her life so that people with irrational fears of inanimate objects can delusionally feel safe in a "gun-free zone"?

I really hope this goes on. I included my experience in my school utilizing a resource officer and how it lowrred fights, drugs, and even minor weapons (knives, and even a few pistol carriers).
