collapsible buffer tube stocks for ak

Post by Vagunlover »

I own two aks. One is an arsenal slr-107fr and the other a century centurion 39 sporter. The century has a standard fixed stock, and i am considering putting on an ar style buffer tube collapsible stock. I have heard from some that because of the mechanics of an ak that it is unnecessary and perhaps counter productive to use this type of stock. Has anyone had any experience with these type stocks? Would love feedback and insight. Thanks and merry Christmas to all!

I have that style on one of my AK's...

If it's a short barrel AK (16") It's spectacular. With the ability to have a more maneuverable in close quarters, and vehicles, but popped out for distance shooting.

You can "cut the pie" MUCH easier with that style. Put a single point sling on it? The bungie hangs the grip at hip level when adjusted, and it just comes up pointing with the stock collapsed.

Thanks for the input. Did you find the buffer tube easy to install? And did it noticeably reduce felt recoil and muzzle climb?

Super easy to install, and nope! No muzzle rise whatsover, however, I put on a muzzle brake designed to reduce muzzle rise, and recoil manages better with a magpul.

Excellent. I have a muzzle brake as well and the magpul afg for the grip. I look forward to testing it out with the new stock. Is yours milled or stamped? This one is milled. Not sure if that will change ease of install
