Current favorite firearm to shoot?
Time to step away from talking politics and doom and gloom and talk guns!
I seem to go through phases of preferring to shoot one gun or another. Right now, my favorite is my Savage 93R17 BTVS in .17 HMR. It's a tack driver and the rifle itself is pretty, and we all know that it's always more fun when it's easy on the eyes. The round is a bit pricier to shoot than .22LR, but IMO, worth the cost. Just need to stockpile it a bit.
How about you?

I know I keep mentioning it, but its new and I'm in love breaking it in. This P556 has been a blast. Seen some of the reviews describing a FTE problem, no problems here.

I still gotta say my Marlin 60 .22. Cheap ammo and lots of uses.

My girlfriends Hi-Point 995TS carbine is a real hoot to shoot. I suspect when I get my AR built it will eclipse the carbine on my fun-o-meter since it'll bring back all those fun memories of my time n BDU's, but for now the carbine is fun, accurate, and not to expensive to own or shoot.

My favorite to shoot has got to be my Springfield Champion, but damn, .45ACP is an expensive habit.
I try to give equal love to my Browning Buckmark and my XDM-9's, but they know it's only because they're cheaper to shoot.

an old marlin single shot blot 22lr with a daisy scope that wobbles with subsonic rounds. Ammo is cheap and it doesn't disturb my neighbors like some of the others would.

12ga pump with pistol grip.....just something very satisfying about how it engages my hands.
Re: Current favorite firearm to shoot?
Two of them:
1.) the "Assault 22", as I lovingly call my bone-stock Ruger 10/22, and
2.) the Security-Six in .357M.
The "Assault 22" is so called because, as Sen. Feinstein would put it, the little rifle's "capable of accepting a High Capacity Clip!" Because it's a .22LR, it's inexpensive to shoot, low in recoil, and great for both marksmanship practice and small game.
The Security-Six is the other one because it's "six for sure", and will shoot loads from mild to wild. Plus, brass is plentiful and easy to source, and I don't need to chase the brass around.

My Ruger 10-22 Charger has gotten a good bit of range time lately. This is the pistol version of the 10-22. It's probably not the most practical gun, but it is a fun plinker. My kids like it, too.
It has a bipod, and as I have a couple of 25 round magazines for it, I may have to start referring to it as the "Assault Plinker" with full credit given to CowboyT. "Assault 22" made me LOL.

They're just like my children: I love them all. I can't choose between them. My favorite one is the one I happen to be holding or otherwise engaged with at any given time. Each has its own strong points which I cherish and weak points which I tend to downplay because they're mine. And finally, all that doesn't mean some of them don't disappoint me at least a little bit at least sometimes.

Remington Nylon 66. Havent seen one of those in awhile. I owned one in the 60's. It was way "furturistic" at the time. LOLOakRidgeStars wrote:It's got to be the .22 rimfire stuff.![]()

Re: Current favorite firearm to shoot?
I've been considering getting an "assault" style 22lr as well. I like the Ruger 10/22 but I think an AR style might be better as it would help my wife get used to ar style without hurting herself using my 15 or 10. I know moss makes a real cheap one but I don't know if it breaks down like a real ar or just looks like one. For the price of a colt one I'm better off getting a Ruger 10/22.

I like shooting my Coonan 357 Magnum 1911, and I like to shoot my S&W 586 L-Comp.

Of the firearms I own, I love shooting my M&P 9. My uncle as a standard Ruger Mark 2 that I just really love shooting and find super easy to shoot well and as others have said it's nice not to see dollars signs every time your slide locks back. I'm going to buy one, eventually.

My .17 HMR Henry Golden Boy is by far the all around favorite firearm I own. Cheaper to shoot than my Henry .357 , but cost a little more to shoot than my Henry .22 LR or .22 mag. I bought it to hunt Ground Hogs ...perfect gun for it !
