Sodan Armaments

If you got a good deal or great service from a shop or range and you want to brag about them, here's the place to do it. Likewise, if you are unhappy about someone's service or feel like you've been ripped off, we want to know that too!

Sodan Armaments

Post by stryder67 »

Thought I'd let people know my recent experience with these guys out of New Kent County.
A week and a half ago I contacted them about doing a FFL transfer for me and receiving the firearm. A woman by the name of Courtney was very friendly and helpful on the phone taking down all the information and assuring me everything would go smooth and quick.
Well it's been 10 days and the dealer at the other end hasn't received anything from them, not even a phone call. I've called Sodan three times and the first 2 times I was assured that it would be taken care in several ways including a email sent plus registered mail. Well on the third and final time I called, a gentleman got my name and went to hand the phone to Courtney which was then promptly hung up.
My conclusion if they talk a great game but when it comes to actually taking 3 minutes to send a email, they can't even be bothered. If this is how they are with such a simple and easy transaction, Lord knows what would happen if I had spent a $1000 bucks or something there and had a problem.
With the competition fierce for dealers, customer service or lack thereof is what separates the successful from the ones who go under.

I live within 15 minutes of this place and finally got around to stopping by there recently. I had come across an online sale for a Sig P228 for $650 from them a month or so ago so I was curious to see what was in stock. The young guy behind the counter was friendly and eager to help in any way. However, the place is tiny and there isn't much in there to see. As far as handguns, there was an antique resembling a P38 that I didn't pay attention to, a "50th anniversary, 1 of 50", S&W Model 29 for $1500, a nice looking S&W model 37 IIRC, a Colt Vest Pocket .25 ACP for $4xx, and a Springfield EMP for around $9xx. There was enough stuff on the walls to lead me to believe they do more work on long guns than anything else.

I may stop by there again sometime just to see if there's anything to look at when I have nowhere to be. I will say if they ever have anything to sell, they may a better place to look than the little hunting/fishing/outdoor store next to the Citgo station that's a few miles up Rt. 249. The one time I went in there, I saw several used Glocks going for $749 and a used XD for the same. At least they had plenty to look at but that's all I'd do there with those prices.
