OC Picnic Discussion

Post by allingeneral »

First discussion started with location: Alexandria - maybe Fort Ward Park.

Are there any other places that people would like to see considered?

Are we looking at a Saturday kinda thing?

I think Dahlgren Wayside Park is a good place to have one. Bring a picnic lunch for yourself and meet there at whatever time. Probably on a saturday or sunday.

That sounds like a great idea to me. I'm open to any weekend except the next Shoot and Greet at Staunton which is around the end of September.

Wakefield Park (off of Braddock road) has some great open areas and is fairly centrally located...
Be particular, and be vigilant, as the enemy will only attack on two occasions:
When you're ready or when you're not ready.

Also never forget, that everyone who shows up, is not necessarily there to help.

A or C would be most convenient for me, but I will go with whatever the majority wants. Btw, if we dont go with Dalhgren we cant have fellowship with Rick's buddy the MD stormtrooper... :hysterical:

If we have fellowship with Rick's buddy I think we need to also have some long guns slung over our shoulders. Maybe some that look evil, that'll give Rick an excuse to buy an SKS or AK or AR. :hysterical:

What about something more "Fredericksburg-ish"? That makes it so that Richmond and NOVA folks would have about the same drive if they wanted to go. Anyone know of a good place in the Fredericksburg area for an OC picnic/meetup?

Maybe we could go visit the range when we're done eating and meeting. The range is about 10 miles outside of Fredericksburg. I think there's a limit to the number of people that I can bring at once though...will have to check on that.

i only suggested Alexandria because they are so uptight & anti-gun in that city. I didn't intend to leave anyone out, or have them feel left out. I know how it is when the event is hours away. Fredricksburg is good for me too.

I'm in Arlington, but I could do a Fredricksburg-ish meeting. A or C are perfect, of course, but I'd rather it be bigger and go south a little bit.

A or C would mean I could definatley go, Fredricksburg may be a push but would probably be doable.

I'm open for what ever you all come up with. While I think it would be eventful if it was further north. I feel it would be a better compromise for our more western and southern members if it was in Fredricksburg.

A would be the best, most exposure and we could educate some people, then we could take a walk through old town.

My back yard. Nope scratch that make it the front yard, it's more level. Fredericksburg wouldn't be too bad of a drive.

Best idea yet. We could all wear cowboy hats and dark glasses. Too bad my AR is green and not black... :hysterical:

If we do that we should also bring a spare pair of drawers. Rick you have any idea what size that cop wears?
