If the Politically Correct Argued For the 2nd Amendment

Post by ShotgunBlast »

I saw this on a Facebook page tonight. I chuckled as I thought it was pretty funny. Until I read some of the comments.

i arque against concealled carry and assault weapons something no citizen needs
I believe in the second amendment, I don't believe NRA is a good source of information about it all for some time now. assault weapons and high capacity magazines have no place in protecting ones home... not unless one wants to kill all their neighbors also.
the 2nd amendment is archaic.... it talks about the state militia needing arms and overthrowing corrupt government.. in this day in age the only piece of a sentence you can use from it is "right to bear arms" and even then it is no longer used in context.....
I personally hate guns. They have been used on me 4 times. Three of those times were because someone had an opinion about me. I still think this cartoon is weak. I actually recommend deleting this post.

Yes, yes, but it misses the point...want if one really needs to kill all of their neighbors? Zombies? Such short sighted thinking will be the downfall of us all.

I was talking to my dad about this the other week and he's like "no one needs a 25 round magazine to defend their home." I quickly explained situations like the LA riots and Katrina where shop owners would have to defend their stores because the police weren't around. I also explained that when I'm practicing at the range, reloading after every 6th shot is a waste of time and not much fun.

He quickly changed his position on high capacity magazines.

I used to do that but now I launch straight into the "High cap mags aren't just for defending your home from intruders they're for defending the citizens from a tyrannical government."

That's the thing that no one thinks about when spewing about gun control. It's the 2nd amendment that keeps all of the other ones intact. While I believe an armed population helps against a tyrannical government, a lot of people these days will roll their eyes and think you're crazy because they feel a government takeover would never happen. Well of course it doesn't happen because we have the 2nd amendment! So I break it down to smaller examples like the riots and Katrina and have had better success in getting more "well that makes sense" responses.

Loved it, sent it out...

SPECIFICALLY... to the liberals in my camp...

Lotsa "Ur", "Um", "Uh", but now they realize how stupid some of the drivel coming from their camp sounds...

However... they have decided to "reinvestigate firearms".

When I get the argument, I ask why. "No one needs..." is not argument enough.

You ever notice the far right and the far left have the same argument? "It's just the way it is cuz I believe it!" What really annoys me is that the far left often consider themselves educated and logical, and they can't debate a point at all. Always the same fallback. "It's just the way it is cuz I believe it!"

Its a fallacy only leftists reason with their emotions. The truth is its rather normal human behavior irregardless of ideology.

Ask your average birther why they think Obama was born in Kenya. You won't get any thought, rather why they feel he was.

Never been attacked by a gun before, but I have been stalked by em, and several have actually followed me home. I can't get rid of em. They just sit there and stare at me. Some even go as far as to threaten to call their buddies to come to my house too. As long a I keep em clean and fed, they leave me alone. :dunno: :sos:
