Oldest Functioning Firearm In Your Collection?
Out of your collection, what is the oldest functioning firearm that you have?
Mine is a late 1940's Winchester Model 74. The serial number's weren't recorded well enough to give an exact date, but a good ballpark between '46 and '50.

Probably that "Black Army" 1911 Colt that was made in 1918, I guess.

An old single shot .22 rifle and a .410 shotgun bold action with a 4 round clip, yes a clip.
Unknown brand as I have not looked at them in years. They were my fathers and date back to the 1920's

m1895 steyr stutzen carbine. Was made in 1916 and someone refurbed it in 1933 based on the etchings.
makes a weird "bloop" sound and has nasty recoil. I like it.

I think my 1911 made in 1917 is the oldest gun I own. I have some M1917's but have never tried to date them. Two of them have barrel dates in 1918 and the other has a replaced barrel. My 03 Mk1 has a barrel date of 5-18 on it.

My Mosin Nagant. 1939 Tula plant.
I had a SCAR 17 and 16. I also had a bunch of Glocks and a couple H&K pistols. Oh and a DDM4, but I sold everything when our government told me these dangerous tools can actually hurt someone. Apparently they grow legs and go on killing sprees.

Mine is a Winchester 72. No serial number at all. It's my favorite .22.ZipDrive wrote:Out of your collection, what is the oldest functioning firearm that you have?

My first Lee-Enfield was built in 1918. I don't have a date on my P14, but I suspect it's older.

I was thinking about getting one of those. Do you recommend it?Kreutz wrote:m1895 steyr stutzen carbine. Was made in 1916 and someone refurbed it in 1933 based on the etchings.

1903 iver pistol which takes 38 shorts which are a pain to find. Followed by a 1913 iver 16 ga which is with it's original carry sack and I have no desire to fire as it's just to pretty but works/ejects with dummy slugs. Followed by my 1023 mossin hex dragoon which has a heck of a kick. I should date my 7mm mauser as it fall's somewhere in that range.

Re: Oldest Functioning Firearm In Your Collection?
Mine is a Winchester 67A. Great .22 still shoots right on. Just ordered a new Sear/Extractor and spring for it. No serail number but I know it was made in the year 1935 because it still has finger grooves in the stock.
I also have a "Columbia" single shot shotgun. Has a patent date of 1903 on it but I can't find any info of it. After about 12 shoots including a little buckshot it devolped a gap between the breech face and the barrel. The takedown screw was made for cheap pot metal and warped in firing and stripped out. If I could find a new takedown screw and a hammer spring(lost the orginal
) then I could get it shooting again.

Actually it's still a magazine. Clip hold the round to be fed into the magazine. But I know what you mean.zombiekiller57 wrote:An old single shot .22 rifle and a .410 shotgun bold action with a 4 round clip, yes a clip.Unknown brand as I have not looked at them in years. Colt revolver 41 special, it was my grand father's, and I expect it was his father's. IIRC, the serial number has it around 1870.
