Considering the irregularly small size of the H&R Premier revolver, finding a suitable holster is pretty much out of the question. So, I ask the following:
Has anyone here made their own leather holster? If not, have you seen someone else who has? If so, tell me about your experience.

Did you want a 'show' holster or a 'go' holster?
As I am on a limited budget, I have made a couple of simple leather belt holsters to simply carry a firearm. they are not pretty, but they are functional.
Basically I lay the firearm on a piece of paper and trace a rough outline with about 1/2" clearance. Remember to include a strap if you want it to hang down from the belt (I usually use a pair of slits with rounded ends and pass the belt through the slits) Also, as mine were revolvers, I also cut a small tongue of leather that I can slit and put over the hammer when carrying. This keeps the firearm secury attached, but I can quickly slip it off the hammer to remove it from the holster.
They're not pretty, but they do the job.

The day they outlaw firearms is the day I become a criminal.

I am an amateur leather worker and have made several holsters as well as other items out of leather (handbags, checkbooks, belts, etc.) Like the last poster said it is really pretty simple and there are resources on the web to help out. If you need more information on materials, suppliers, tools, etc. give me a shout out. I would be happy to help another prospective leather crafter.
