nothing like hunting coyotes...when the pack returns a challenge call your blood turns cold for a few seconds

Never had a pack respond, but I have shot a few loners. They seem to be particularly enamored with my grandson's goats. A tall fence will not deter them, but a 22-250 sure will!. They don't respond to my calling, but I'm probably doing it wrong. I bought an electronic caller and I'm going to try that next.

I hunt them when I can. My buddy out in Franklin and I get together and go after them whenever we both get some time off. He's got a couple but I have yet to get on one yet, I'm saving up for either a green light or NV so we can hunt them at night. We seem to call them in better then.

I do alot of predator calling for yotes and bobcats here in the west. I do alot of nighttime calling in the winter here in WA state. I have called in several bears and a couple of mountain lions. I have some really good lion vocalizations that work wonders out here. Looking forward to calling fox again. I used to call alot of red and grey foxes growing up in Missouri but fox are extremely rare in eastern WA. I'm moving to Stafford, VA next weekend. Can you night hunt fox, yotes and bobcat back there?

They're all considered furbearers: http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/hunting/re ... asp#bobcat

Coyotes have a continuous open season as they're a nuisance, the other two have defined seasons. Not sure if night hunting is kosher or not for foxes and cats.
