Purchasing 12G from a store

Post by birdshooter1 »

If I go a gun store to buy a Remington 870, what will I need to provide and how much time will it take till I take the gun home? Any waiting period? Also, is the gun registered after the purchase?

Assuming you're a VA state resident, just show them your ID. Background check for me took a day or so due to a common name. Others could be in and out in a half hour or less. No waiting period and no registration.

You will need one photo I.D. (usually driver's license) and two forms of proof of residence, most people use their driver's licence and vehicle registration, but voter's registration, gas, water, electric bill will also work too. For Military a copy of your orders and a bill or statement mailed to your unit's mailing address will work.
You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?
