Hey, I was visiting my brother over the weekend in NY and we went out to shoot his pre-ban (an issue that matters in nY) Mini-14. He has two official ruger magazines, a 5 rd and a 10 rd. Now the 5 round works just fine, but the ten has a seating problem. It seems to seat fine, but the minute you rack the bolt and it grabs the first round it unseats and falls right out. If it had been 3rd party I think we could blame that, but since it is the ruger official, anyone have an idea what could be causing it or how to correct? Is it possible newer magazines have issues with the older frames?
Any advice would be helpful.Thanks

Re: Mini-14 magazine issue
Take the mag apart, clean the inside, put the spring in upside down, and see if that works.
I have the high cap Mini-14's from Ruger from the 1980's. And I had to do that with one to make it function.
