Healthcare for Congress
Healthcare for Congress
Congressman John Fleming (Louisiana physician) has proposed an
amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same healthcare plan they force on us (under proposed legislation they are curiously exempt). Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and sign his petition (very simple - just first name, last name and email).
at: http://fleming.house.gov/ . Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!
If Congress forces this plan on the American people, it seems fair that the Congressmen should have to accept the same level of health care for themselves and their families.

Re: Healthcare for Congress
so does the congress have a different health care plan? Why does the health care reform did not include the personell working at the congress?

Re: Healthcare for Congress
Different health care, different retirement plans, raises when they feel the need, etc. Since they see themselves as Superior, they take care of themselves as they see fit and take care of the rest of us in a secondary/subservient manner. What is good enough for the populus isn't necessarily good enough for them.lemond wrote:so does the congress have a different health care plan? Re: Healthcare for Congress
I do and dont support this resolution. It merely says that members who vote in support of health care reform are urged to forfeit their federal health insurance in favor of the proposed coverage. It doesnt say they must. They could all say ok we agree with the resolution just to get points with voters. Then later they dont do it. Who would know the difference.
The resolution really needs to be a bill that would become law that regardless of how they voted they will be covered under the proposed insurance.
I signed anyway.

It;s really a shame that we can't act like employers do and tell them we will not provide them with health care any longer on the taxpayers dime,,and that they are on their own like a lot of us,,

Indeed. We are "extremist, militant, and un-American." I sent the Speaker a note on that one.VBshooter wrote:Oh yeah .I realize they are far above the average person, just ask them!!

I'm sure all of us are proud of the descriptive monikers Pelosi and freinds use ,,,I love when the enemy resorts to name calling,, It shows their childish mentality and only helps to further our cause,, I for one am proud to be a Right WIng Conservative!! Maybe some creative type will figure out how to sue Pelosi or Boxer for the name calling and we can all file a lawsuit to share THEIR wealth.. A dream I know but it would be great..

Here's the letter I sent to pelosi
------------------------------------
Dear Speaker Pelosi,
Your USA Today article 'Un-American' attacks can't derail health care debate fails to address the true reason that most Americans are upset about the proposed health care reform act.
The statement “Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American.” is despicable and attacks every American citizen that chooses to exercise his or her or her 1st Amendment right. I am not only speaking about freedom of speech. I am also speaking of our right to address grievances to the government. Our elected leaders, including you, have failed to listen and they have turned their faces away from our cries in favor of their own agendas.
Anyone, including and especially you, calling us un-American for exercising our 1st Amendment rights is un-American. You should be ashamed of yourself. These “angry mobs” are American citizens who want nothing more than their voices to be heard and your party “drowns them out at every turn.” No wonder they are angry. You would be too and moreover you have been part of many “angry mobs” in the past protesting something you believed in. How loud did you shout at the opposition?
I sincerely hope you believe in Americans. They, me included, are indeed angry and fed up with your tax and spend agendas. You can either listen now or on Election Day. The choice is yours.
Respectfully,

The only thing we may change is the party in control. They will still be above the law and we serve them, no matter who is there.zephyp wrote:Spence, surely you know by now they are above the law and we serve them. That will change 2 Nov 2010.

C'mon Henry , It;s not a lost cause yet. We all are aware it ain;t gonna be easy but if we don;t try we'll never know,True the party in power will change but leading up to that election we do have the power to help shape those candidates agendas. They are more than aware the people of thios country are ticked off and looking to kick some political butt,, 2010 is that Butt Kick we need to at least get some of the favor on our side, The current group of wipe outs is gonna kill us if we don;t get them out of office ASAP.

Re: Healthcare for Congress
True unless we change the election paradigm. Right now in order to run a successful campaign and win you must be rich and famous. We need to promote regular Americans like you and Spence and others to run for these offices. If we can get some real people in who are in touch with America and have real problems then that business of being above the law will change somewhat.Vahunter wrote:The only thing we may change is the party in control.
