I haven't been around here long enough to know what this forums or your definition of tacticool is but if you mean a lot of "Black gun" talk or taking about gun fighting classes, I'd have to say it's a valid topic. "I think" gun fighting schools are extremely important to even the most basic gun owner. There's more to guns than just killin the Deer and Fowl.

I'm not really a hunter and while I've just started hunting for the first time last year (I'm 35) up until then I always joked that I didn't shoot anything that didn't shoot back. (military/Infantry for 10 years)

For me guns were first and foremost for offensive and defensive purposes, heck I had never even shot a gun till I joined the Marines.

If you mean Tacticool as in Video game or Gecko45 threads, then belay my last, lol.

having just gotten my first black rifle I'd be a bit of a hypocrite if i was commenting on those threads having been influenced by them to buy : )

in my experience this forum tends to be less internet penis size and way more useful information from stuff for beginners and causal shooters to stuff for hard core preppers and everything in between delivered in a friendly manner and a whole lot less cliqueishness and none of that you are all doomed because you don't use X just like me talk ...

Ok.... I'm gonna ask, cause I just don't know and y'all can shake your heads at me.... it's ok.... what is a "Black Gun"and what is a Tecicool?... sorry guys but I am old and not as savvy as you. I am like the proverbial 'mushroom'.... however.... I did just buy an M-4 Colt all in 'darkearth' with all the Mag-pull furniture installed and a nice EOtech sight... is that what you would call a "Black Gun" (although it is actually sort of desert tan color) ??? That is what I thought maybe you were referring to... I do not however, know what Tecicool is?? Thanks for your indulgence here....

Well, Speezack, to get a little background, read that link that was posted in reference to Gecko45. It's a collection of forum posts written by a guy who called himself by that screen name. He had a friend who posted under the name of Specops. (Although, I gather that it was speculated that Gecko45 and Specops were the same person)

Black Gun would basically be a tactical styled rifle . (Though, I suppose that there are pistols and shotguns that could fall into that category)

Tacticool is a play on the word tactical. For example, were I to start dressing as though I were on an on-duty SWAT team in the middle of an operation, even though all I'm really doing is driving a delivery truck, one would say that I was "tacticool". Like the term "SuperTrucker", it is not a complement; it would be a nice way of calling me a douche nozzle.

However, since the rise of the term "tacticool", folks have begun referring to there tactical style guns as tacticool in more of an affectionate fashion.

As to "internet penis", I just saw that for the first time today. From the context, I assume that it refers to a ridiculous ego and transparent lines of BS.
