I cant tell and the description isnt good. Sent a request for more info but no one has returned my email.

A little more expensive but better description.

I have glow in the dark sights for my P290, but they actually came with it and I dont know what the add-on part is called for a P238.

Yep, they glow. I have the Meprolight sights on a Kimber 1911.

I don't have a set, so someone back me up here, but they are Tritium. it's a mildly radioactive isotope that has a half life around 10-12 years. meaning that it doesn't need exposure to light or anything to make it glow, it's self-sustaining just grows slowly dimmer over time.

as opposed to glow in the dark paint or coloring that needs to be recharged with light often.

You are correct. They are Tritium sights.

Less radioactive than the average smoke detector.
