Out of Stock Holsters
Out of Stock Holsters
What's with the holster shortage out there? Same reason as gun/ammo buy ups I guess. Forget ordering a warehoused holster - out of stock. If you don't mind waiting a couple of months for production, www.lonestarholsters.com has a great line of custom made holsters. Most gun fits and great quality work.

Discount Holsters in Stock
I don't see a problem with out of stock holsters. Why wait 2 months for a custom job when you can order one that you know will fit and have it three days later?

Re: Out of Stock Holsters
I had no problems getting a Galco or DeSantis holster. Both were here within a week.

Re: Out of Stock Holsters
I finally found a holster I want to get, and the one website that has them is sold out.
Hopefully, they get more in eventually...

It's a cross draw holster that got high marks from someone on OCDO. I'll PM you a link to it.allingeneral wrote:What kind of holster is it?Riana wrote:I finally found a holster I want to get, and the one website that has them is sold out.Hopefully, they get more in eventually...

Re: Out of Stock Holsters
Bah. I just found out that the company is not ordering anymore of them, so I'm SOL.Riana wrote:It's a cross draw holster that got high marks from someone on OCDO. Let me pose the question/description to the masses, and see what people recommend.
To start with, I'm a short, left-handed woman. I carry at 11 o'clock because a vertical draw (like from 9 o'clock) is impossible, even with a snubby - there's just not enough room between waist and armpit. Carrying up front like I do, I can pretty much draw back and present in one motion, if needed.
Basically, what I'm looking for is a left-hand cross draw holster (normally worn on the right). My plan is to wear it strong-side, and the cant would be muzzle-forward - say, 45 degrees from horizontal, maybe a little less. I'm carrying a S&W Model 60 right now, in a Ted Blocker IWB holster, and while it's workable, I think OWB would work better for me. I'm not worried about concealment - I frequently wear big shirts over my t-shirts, so concealment is pretty easy if I really want to. The only other requirements are the holster needs a thumb break, and the trigger needs to be covered by the holster.
I expect custom is going to be the way to go, but since hubby's not all that keen on my carrying to begin with, I don't want to surprise him with a huge bill for a holster
Any thoughts out there?

In an effort to give folks an idea of what you're looking for... here's a picture of the holster that you were originally looking at today. Maybe pwillis61 (the OP) could make you one like it for a good price?

Re: Out of Stock Holsters
That first one looks promising (the second one doesn't seem to come in the right size). I wonder what the back looks like - I hope belt slots in various places to accomodate the different angles. I'll have to e-mail them about the sizing - since my J-Frame has a 2 1/8" barrel, I wonder if the 2" holster would work.Vahunter wrote:I might have found what your'e looking for. Thanks for the heads-up - I'll let you know if I get it, and how it works out.

Re: Out of Stock Holsters
You say your ordered direct from Fobus?
That seems kinda strange that they're "On a 2-month backup" but since you ordered expedited shipping, you get one? So, they gave you head of line privileges and are holding on to stock? hmm... I guess that means poor retailers are out of luck!
Just out of curiosity - what's the model number on the Fobus that you bought?
