NOVA Firearms Gun Shop

Post by Jericho01 »

Anybody been to NOVA Firearms Gun Shop in Falls Church? I saw their flyer at the gun show in Chantilly. This should be welcome news to us here in NoVa eversince Dawson's moved to Woodbridge and the Loading Bench closed down several years ago. They were both located in Annandale at one point. They're open on Wed and Fri evenings and weekends.

Hadn't heard of it. More NoVa gun shops can only be a good thing, IMO. You'll haveto check it out and report back to us.

Judging from their store hours, looks like they are part time only. At least they're open on weekends.

Hello everyone, I am the owner of NOVA Firearms. We are a new gun shop in Falls Church City with limited hours until we get sufficient customers to open for longer hours. Our current hours of operations are Wed & Fri 5-9pm, Sat 9am-5pm, and Sun 12-5pm. We do transfers in and out of VA. And we are available by appointment when not open to the general public. We stock Sig, Glock, Springfield, Taurus, and Ruger, several rifles and shotguns, as well as have lots of accessories. Since we are new to the area, we have very competitive prices. We hope to provide you with great service, and keep shooting sports alive in VA. Thanks for the positive comments and support as we get started.

NOVA Firearms is located on the second floor of the light blue 2-story Davies Real Estate building next to the Falls Church post office on the corner of Broad and Oak Street. There are several businesses in the building. The NOVA Firearms business sign says "NOVA" next to the front door. There is plenty of parking behind the building, but you may only enter through the front of the building.

Major kudos to NOVA Firearms! I was going to start my own thread but found this one. Dennis is great to work with, extremely helpful, and has a pretty nice selection for a small shop. Of course, he'll order stuff for you if it's not in stock. Dennis is also diligent about returning phone calls. If you don't get him at first, leave a message. I'm glad to have a quality firearms shop so close to Arlington.

Many thanks to Dennis for his help today and for opening up a shop inside the beltway with parking! I highly recommend Dennis and NOVA Firearms.

That's great news, Dennis!

You're very close to my office, so I'll have to swing by the shop sometime soon to check it out.

For future reference, what is your current FFL transfer fee?

Congrats on the new shop! You should put a pic of your new store front on the web site with an announcement to let existing customers know.

I stopped by there a few weeks back, and, Yes, they do seem to be a nice bunch of guys, BUT...
I ran into a guy- a complete novice- who went there to buy a Deer Rifle to hunt in Virginia, and they talked him into buying a Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 in .300 Win Mag, with a honkin' BIG tactical scope!
What makes matters worse, they charged him , $25.00 for the Va. State Police Background Check, and on his receipt was:
Background Check [WAY over the $2.00 mandated by State Police/State Law fee!]
Ammunition [no description]
Firearm [not a full description OR serial number]
[I don't remember if/how the scope was listed.]
I am trying to get a hold of the guy and get a copy of the receipt... so just be cautious when buying ANYWHERE to make sure you are paying the CORRECT amount in FEES, and that the receipt has a concise AND accurate FULL listing and description of what you purchased.
He recently went to Dawson's and traded the Bruiser in for a .308 Winchester.
Badger Jack
Good luck, and God Speed.

NOVA Firearms uses the ARSS Firearms Inventory tracking system. One of the best firearms tracking systems on the market today. All new inventory is bar-coded using manufacturer descriptions. On each receipt, a complete description of the firearm and its serial number is listed. On every transaction, the buyer signs one receipt acknowleging receipt of the firearms and a copy is attached to the ATF for 4473. For firearms purchased at our shop, NOVA Firearms charges a $10 fee in excess of the firearm to cover the NICS back ground check and admin fees assosciated with the firearm transfer. For transfers, where a customer procures a firearm outside our shop, we charge $49 (this includes the NICS fee). I hope this clears up any confusion from the prior post.

Thanks,
NOVA Firearms

Thanks for the link! I didn't see any Kimbers listed. Do you not offer Kimber M1911's?
