Well, the pyro rounds would probably have a hard time not getting tagged as destructive devices (which may be why I've never heard of anything like that available in the civilian sector). Mostly the 40mm guys stick with chalk rounds, smoke rounds, flares, and the exotics - beehives, buckshot, shotgun adapters, etc. The 26.5mm adapters are also popular, and currently much cheaper to shoot than 40mm. Had a chance to shoot some of the 26.5 smoke rounds a while back in a 203, they shot to point of aim and put out about as much smoke as a "real" 40mm smoke round. I was suitably impressed.
