Newest Duracoat projects, Ones for the ladies.

Post by DrowningInk »

Here are two nice guns we just recently finished duracoating. One is a Glock 34 Gen 4 thats used for competion we did in a bright O.S.H.A. Blue to make sure it stands out and its next outing, and the other is a XD-45 we did in CavArms Pink as a wedding gift for the bride, hard to tell in picture but we tried something new with this one and even layed in pink in the lettering on the slide and the dots in the sights for a nice subtle touch. Let us know what you think.

Oh, the blue one is a bad idea. Looks too much like the plastic safety blue guns they use for instruction.

I agree that the blue looks like the training guns they use, but its what the customer wanted so we aim to please. Yes we do rifles as well and I will be trying to add a price list sometime soon, I can almost guarentee we have the lowest prices around with full pistols starting at $80 and every customer we have done a gun for has come back wanting more. We also do Hydrographic Printing I will try to post some pictures of that soon. Thanks for the feedback.

We can definately do that for you duracoat offers quite a few tiger stripe patterns that would look amazing and just fyi for us to do a full rifle in a pattern like that is about $170 plus shipping depending on what pattern you get exactlly. We have had a lot of luck with people getting Digital Urban Camo that i personally like.

Also here are a few more pictures of early work we did.

Here is a Shotgun we got in that was all black synthetic stock that we dipping in a wetland style Camo.

Chris's personal XD-45 we did in Urban Digi-Camo, our first time using it.

Early gun we worked on a nice sub compact Glock that we dipped the frame in a carbon fiber pattern and put duracoat clear over to make sure it lasts.

Hope you like them. Ofcourse I will be posting more pictures of what we have done.

I love the Kel-Tec Sub2000 and that XD-45. That AR would be nicer if it was the whole thing. I would send you my Kel-Tec and AR, to have done in a woodland/multicam, if it wasn't such a pain to send in the mail from this Commie state. I thought about getting the home kit to try myself on some mags, but then I would have to pull them all out of hiding.

Nice work and keep it up!!

Thanks for the complements, I agree about the AR pretty sure the guy is going to get us to do the rest of it for him soon. Shipping is a bit of a pain sometimes, where are you located if you were close enough we could definately meet you to pick up your guns to do the work for you. Starting on mags is a good way to learn its actually what we used when we were first experimenting with the hyrdographic printing process. A word of advice though the little aresol sprayer that comes in a kit isn't very good and gets clogged very easy, we use a airbrush for all of ours.

Yeah I'm in the Peoples Republic of assachusetts, so most likely I would have to do it through an FFL here. They have it locked down so bad here that retailers won't accept ammo orders, or send complete uppers to home addresses. I've looked at those kits and read the disaster stories from people trying to use the little air can method, luckily I have a pancake compressor and a new air gun kit from my model trains weathering that I could use. Will just have to buy the paint, hardner, and thinner to get started. I wold like to use the bake method, and add a clear coat, to really get a nice long lasting finish.

If I can ever find a Glock 17 for sale here at a descent price, I would drive down there to have that and my Kel-Tec done in the urban digital. Those would make a nice pair for my SHTF bag.

Well thats not good at all does UPS even give the same problem for trying to ship firearms? I did look to see how much we could get you a Glock 17 for approx. $520 but ofcourse we would have to ship it to a FFL dealer near you and you would have to pay their transfer charge, I don't know how much they sell for up there but when we got it in we could definetly duacoat it for you while it was here and ship it up to you.

Can Flickr images be linked directly into the forum rather than having to click each link to see what you've done? I don't use flickr, so don't know if there's an account setting that you can use to allow your images to be shared/linked...

Nice work though - and your prices sound good too!

I agree that the blue Glock is weird and possibly even dangerous...but the customer is always right, eh?

Ill have to find out about posting the pictures directly from Flickr its my first time useing that website. Thanks for the complement everyone we have dealt with so far has been very happy with our work and come back for more.

He has since then put one of the black rubber Grips on the Glock which helps distinguish it more from a training aid.
