Nine advice

Post by Kory »

I really like my beretta 96. I don't particularly like my current 9 mm, a glock 26. I thought I would like to get-trade to another 9. Something tacticool maybe a double/single action but defiantly shorter/beter trigger any ideas? I've been thinking about a ppq or p99 but how much I hate the glock trigger is scarring me away from dao. I have a pp I love and a 1911 I like also(so you know my taste).

How much you want for the 26? I am interested in it.
I had a SCAR 17 and 16. I also had a bunch of Glocks and a couple H&K pistols. Oh and a DDM4, but I sold everything when our government told me these dangerous tools can actually hurt someone. Apparently they grow legs and go on killing sprees.

Cool deal man. My fiancé uses the current 26 we have so I wouldn't mind getting another. I prefer new, but for the right price I'd buy used. I am eligible for the glock blue label so I can get new for around 425. Let me know if you do decide to sell!

Thanks!

Might also try a Kahr.... I really like my PM9... Trigger completely different than the Glock... Give one a try if you get a chance.

H&K with a LEM trigger.

P30 would be my preference.

Test a PPQ. I did, and found the trigger to be MUCH nicer than on the Glock. Or go slightly bigger and try an FNX.

Yeah that Walter is good. I just don't care for the magazine release one bit. Every other issue I have with it can be gotten used to. The grip is nice on those for sure. I was pondering getting one before I got my G30 .45 cal

Since you like your Beretta so much, why don't you get the 9mm version? If that doesn't float your boat, try a Ruger SR9 or a CZ-75B.

I'm a huge fan of my Sig, my SP2022 great shooter, little recoil and accurate as hell for the money. The Walther i'm sure would be great too i have a PK380 so a little smaller than the 9mm you want to go with but the grip is amazingly comfortable. Like others have said not crazy about mag release but u get used to it. I have the sig when i really need to send some rounds to range or whereever. :packin:

I never felt the need for a 9mm till a couple of years ago.

My first was a Browning BDM. Okay but not up to the accuracy standards compared to my 1911's.

My second was a Glock (technically not a 9mm but it shoots the same diameter and bullet weight as a 9mm - its a .357 SIG) and it's okay but still not the groups i'd hoped for.

Recently I got a XDm. It may very well be the 9mm I've been looking for. Lots of tiny bullets in the magazine. More accurate during the first couple of boxes (or so) than either the Browning or the Glock. Feels better in my hand. I'm already thinking of buying another one in a few months.

I personally prefer the German guns: Sig or HK. The HK p30 is definitely the most comfortable gun I've ever held but it's stock trigger isn't the best. Sigs are rock solid and shoot like a dream. I love the DA/SA trigger on Sigs.

I had a an XD9 and loved it, but wanted a smaller concealed carry gun so traded it, If I had the chance, money, and opportunity I would buy another, for all of the above mentioned reasons!!!!!

I looked at a Steyr (at ACF in Cville). While a little thick for my carrying desires, it was a beautiful pistol with a great trigger feel and one of the slickest slides I've ever racked.

I'm partial to the Ruger SR9, but I have to admit its trigger is Glock-like. (All my formal training is on 9mm Glocks.) I'd wave you away from the S&W Sigma (horrid trigger, although the rest of the gun is standard wondernine), but I haven't tried their new models.

If you like 1911s, I'd say check out the XD9. Springfield has the standard 1911 grip angle, and the trigger is outstanding in my experience.

(I've got no experience at all with higher-end guns like the H&Ks, so take my advice for what it's worth.)

You do know you live across the Interstate from the George Washington National Forest, right? Lots of hunting opportunities there.

I've never hunted on public land. I am not opposed to it. On private land I know where to start. I guess I need to start a never hunted public thread.
