Who needs a gun in downtown Norfolk?
Everyday we are inching closer to a complete collapse of the rule of law in this country. This seemingly innocent story was buried back in the newspaper's opinion section. Anyone care to guess where it would be if the racial makeup of the participants was in reverse?

Mssrs. Sharpton and Jackson did a lot to inflame the passions of young folks who already feel resentment for their lot in life and are much too prone to manipulation to violence. They should both be in jail.

Re: Who needs a gun in downtown Norfolk?
I was assaulted while being robbed twice in Norfolk. The first guy broke my glasses, this was outdoors, forgot the road it was on. The second I was on the 9th floor hallway at the Omni Hotel Waterside. During the Hampton University Senior Ball. Lots of people didn't see anything. I was taken by ambulance to Norfolk Sentara Hospital. 21 staples to close my scalp after the bastards hit me on my skull with a wine cooler bottle.

I was at an eating place back in 2001 when I was jumped by several men. Case of mistaken identity I guess... There were at least 8 though I put 3 in the hospital it didn't change the fact that I still had to go to the hospital because one tried to gouge my right eye out. I ended up biting and degloving his thumb though.
this was after I took a brick to the head. two of them were unconscious when the police arrived. I just sat on a bench and smoked a cigarette while giving the police my side of the story. Most of the attacking party got away.
As far as that story goes.... It is complete bullsh1t that the police officer acted the way he did. Probably related to the dirtbags that attacked the innocent man and woman. White men are the minority these days and young blacks are the majority. Since majority rules ( has strong voting power) the whites are in a losing battle for justice. NAACP should be deemed unlawful. This is why I want to move away from any and all society.

I had a SCAR 17 and 16. I also had a bunch of Glocks and a couple H&K pistols. Oh and a DDM4, but I sold everything when our government told me these dangerous tools can actually hurt someone. Apparently they grow legs and go on killing sprees.

I live in Virginia Beach, and from now on, I carry two spare mags.
If they cops KNOW that these kids are out for trouble in these areas, why aren't they out in force putting a stop to it? To protect and serve huh? This right here is the reason more people need to carry. If the ones being attacked were CCP holders, this whole thing would have gone down differently. They might have been the new Mr. Zimmerman, but then again, they could have been killed!
"They were probably juveniles anyway" Are you kidding me?! I'm sorry, but if a 16 (they may not have been 16, I'm just using this number)year old doesn't know it's wrong to 1. throw a rock at someone's windshield, and 2. beat their face in, then maybe this "kid" should be in a mental facility instead of walking around downtown Norfolk. At what point does one take responsibility for their actions?
"Find their parents and tell them" ABSOLUTELY! a hundred times yes! But after you arrest them, take them to jail, and let them sit there for 3-5 years for attempted murder. You can't tell me 30 people beating on 2 is not attempted murder.
As a sidenote, if you don't know right from wrong at the age of 16, maybe your parents should be in jail too.
Sorry for the long rant, but Jesus Christ, what's wrong with our species?

Society is going nuts! What is this like the fourth racial incident in two weeks. People needs to get a grip. Even if Zimmerman was as guilty as sin (which I don't think he was) that should not change people's behavior 750 miles away.
If this is what "these kids" do then you need to find and arrest them or their parents for their crimes. If these people are considered children still at 16 then we need a new definition for individuals under the age of say 12 (actual children). Young men and young women would be the better designation for them.

I'd make me worry about the consequences of using a gun in those circumstances. If they can't be sanctioned for bashing in your windsheild and then your head, wouldn't you be the bad guy if you shot one of the poor little underpriviledged infants?

That is what I am worried about. A bunch junior thugs start bashing in a windshield and gouging out people's eyes and the victims shoot in defense of their lives, and suddenly they were just babies walking home from the theater when a crazed man jumped it beat hs own head on his car windshield and then shot an innocent person crossing at the crosswalk.
Going to need to start carrying a video recording device that streams to Internet just to have in case of crap like this happening.

Hispanic - 11,780 (5.0%)
Asian alone - 7,358 (3.2%)
Two or more races - 6,534 (2.8%)

Don't worry though, if you defended yourself from the "teenagers" (newspaper PC speak for blacks) you'll get George Zimmerman'd faster than you can say "wtf"?

Video recording device seems a little morbid, but might mean the difference between being a free man or thrown in jail for defending yourself.

Re: Who needs a gun in downtown Norfolk?
Around 2004, my wife (then G/F) was at ODU. I would drive to Norfolk and spend the weekends with her. I always carried my 1911 when I went over there, kept my doors locked, was aware of people around me, and tried to position my car where it wasn't completely boxed in at stop lights.
After spending a semester in the old ODU Inn dorm rooms, my wife got an apartment with a friend. The friend's B/F ended up moving in as well. He was later carjacked at gun point in the middle of the afternoon on Hampton Blvd, just a few blocks from their apartment.
I always concealed the weapon from them when I went inside. During a conversation, my wife revealed that I carried a gun whenever I was there. They were both freaked out by this knowledge and asked her why I had a gun. When my wife later told me about it, I thought it was ridiculous that someone who was held at gun point and living across the street from a fatal stabbing couldn't figure out why I chose to arm myself when in that area.

Having been surrounded by 6 "young men" intent on robbing me in North Carolina in 1999 and luckily being able to chase them off as I was carrying, I avoided becoming a statistic and always carry whenever and where ever I can. The targeted beatings at the Wisconsin state fair at least led to that state's concealed carry law. Something needs to be done because whenever a victim fights back, the Liberal media paints them as a vigilante.

Durham. It is surprising that under extreme duress you can be totally calm. When the ring leader said "you scared ain't you mother******" I pulled out my .380 and said "Not really, I have 8 bullets and there are 6 of you, who wants the extra 2?" Looking back it sounded like a corny movie line, but I didn't get robbed or assaulted.scrubber3 wrote:Let me guess, Fayetteville, Charlotte, or Durham?marked8 wrote:Having been surrounded by 6 "young men" intent on robbing me in North Carolina in 1999 and luckily being able to chase them off as I was carrying, I avoided becoming a statistic and always carry whenever and where ever I can. For anyone wondering why Durham is crime riddled, check out the demographics.
