Tell them drunk drivers kill more people. Maybe we should outlaw booze again?? (We shouldn't)

I guess whether you're talking about guns, booze, drugs, or whatever, some people just won't take any personal responsibility and need the nanny state to take care of them from the cradle to the grave.
