Hi all - I'd like to join this M&G (with fiance in tow).

Will anyone be bringing a shotgun that I could take a peek at? I've never shot one and would like to know how it feels before we buy one. I'll bring my sigP220.45, markIII.22, and my .22plinker rifle.

Should I bring sodas or snacks too?

I have 12, 16, and 20 guage so take your pick or all

Mossberg 500 12 guage, an old Stevens single shot 16 guage, or a New England single shot 20 guage

I have bird shot, Turkey Shot, Buckshot, and slugs for the 12 guage
I have Bird shot and slugs for the 20 guage
and bird shot only for the 16 guage

Awesome! Thank you! Could I try the 12 and the 20? I'm guessing my preference will be the 20 (as a woman who's not a fan of recoil). My uses will be home defense primarily and someday I want to try turkey hunting.

A cooler with some sodas in it would be pretty cool, I think :)

Hey Rick
do you by chance have any 7.5 x 55 Swiss ammo at your shop? I just got a 1911 Schmidt-Rubin rifle from my Dad while I was back over Easter and would like to try it out, but I know it is to large a caliber for Ft Lee. I willl be checking the Gun Show this weekend to see if I can find it.

Here is a generic web photo

Very tempting... but you know it will be bad weather? http://www.weather.com/weather/weekend/23801

WooHoo! 30% chance of SUNSHINE!! :)

Everyone can make their own call...if it looks icky out and you don't feel like going, then don't. If it looks like it will hold of for awhile and it only takes you 20 minutes to get there, then stop by for a bit.

Personally, I'll be making the go, no-go decision Sunday morning.

I will more then likely be attending.

I will be bringing my FNX in 9mm if anyone wants to try it out. Only if, of course, I can try what you bring too.

Preferably pistols.
Anyone got any of the following I can try?
USP any caliber
CZ-75B or BD.
Glock 17 or 19
HK45
FNP 45

I think it'd be a more interactive way to find and shoot guns that you like by having other people bringing them and sharing. Just a thought.

All,

WE WILL be open tomorrow. GPS coordintates are: 37.26 -77.33

Hours are 1000 to 1600 with last full relay registering around 1500. The firing line has a covering roof, so don't let the rain discourage you!! We are open rain or shine, snow or tornado warnings if they (range control) gives us the range!!

We do have five firing positions for 5.56/.223 and smaller center fires and still working to get a .30 caliber range. Distance is 85 yards.

The cost is $5.00 for the first full hour (or portion there of) and $2.50 for the next half hour. Targets are available for sale, but bring your own eyes and ears. Correct about the CCW not being valid on post. Just have the magazine out (yes that is also considered a "loaded" weapon) and the ammo separate from the weapon. Two separate range bags seem to be acceptable We haven't had a problem with the MPs, but please don't take the chance. They will confiscate the weapon and it's a b****h to get back.

I will be there with my rainsuit helping out as an RSO. I'm a VCDL member and look forward to meeting you!!

Vern,

No problem on shotguns or loads. Our only restrictions are at least 20 yards out for the target to prevent shot (primarily bird shot) coming back and hitting you or one of the other shooters - its happened with 7 1/2 shot. Yes, I know the buck & slugs will not come back, but we'd rather be safe than having to call the medics.

Sadly, I won't be making it to the M&G today. The long drive down 95 in stormy weather is a bit more than I was looking for. It's not a bad drive in nice weather but I have visions of accidents and heavy traffic (you know people in NoVA can't drive well on a clear day). I really hope I can make the next one. Have fun shooting if you still go out!! :pistol:

I'm still trying to decide. Keeping an eye on the weather map, which doesn't look all that promising right now. Our 4-month old doesn't need to be out in that slop.

My whole weekend got rained out. Rode four hours out to Blacksburg yesterday for the Va Tech spring practice game only for them to cancel it. Wiped this from my calendar last night when I saw the hourly forecast wasn't looking too good. As long as we've gone without any rain, and look what happens when I have things lined up! lol
