Sig P250

Post by fuze »

Brand New Sig Sauer P250 chambered in 9mm. Came with 3 mags with a 15+1 round capacity.

Been on a bit of a buying spree lately, and I think I am done for a while now

This is my first Sig but I have never heard anything but compliments about them, so I hope it lives up to the Sig Sauer name that proceeds it.

I haven't shot the newer models, but Sigs to me have the best out of the box trigger. I had a p229 that was amazing and I still have a p239. They're built like tanks!

I realize it's impolite to say uncomplimentary things in these threads, but you may want to do some more research. The P250 was dropped by Sig for cause. (And Sig itself has been in a steep downward trend for the last few years, like Kimber before it: Sig's current head honcho is the same guy who ran Kimber into the ground, as I recall.)

It's all good Diomed.

I got the P250 out to the range yesterday and it was great. The fit and finish is top notch and the DAO trigger is butter smooth all the way through.

I fed it various ammo types, 300 rounds worth, and it ate them all without a hiccup. The pistol turns out to be superbly accurate, more then I was expecting.

I see these kinds of statements (on forum boards, 99% of the time) about Sig and their quality. Yet, I haven't seen it firsthand. The last gun I purchased was a P226 MK 25 and it's a tack driver. And I don't understand the "P250 was dropped by Sig" comment. They didn't drop the P250 ... if I understand what you meant correctly.

My point is that I own several different brands of guns but I've had zero issues with my Sigs over the years. So what's your basis for saying Sig is "on a downward trend"? Aside from perhaps non-reputable sources on the Internet? I'm just curious.

To the OP, congratulations. I'm sure you'll enjoy that gun for years to come.

Nice little gun. Went to see one at one of the local shops here in "the Peoples Republic of Assachusetts". They only have the compact in and said that the sub-c didn't make this commie states list for approved guns, and the trigger pull here is about 14lbs. They only have the 9mm and the 45acp in all black, plus they only come with 2 mags here and not 3. Not sure what one to get though, would like a bigger caliber but it all depends on if I can find the Glock 17 that I've been waiting for here.

Nice picture and enjoy.
Charles.

Oh yes, it was some of the variants. Sorry about that.

Nah, you're a Sig fan, which is cool. I don't care about Sigs one way or another, I just don't like seeing someone get a gun and be disappointed that it's a lemon (something that can happen with every single manufacturer, but which I didn't hear much about related to Sigs until a couple of years ago, and considering that there seem to be more complaints about the 250 than anything else except perhaps the new 210, a gun I've had two Sig dealers tell me is junk, I figure there's maybe some fire where there's all that smoke).

Diomed,

Thanks for your response. To be fair, I had read a review of the P250 when it was first released complaining of some minor issues with the DAO trigger. I believe that's been resolved. Sig certainly went away from their norm when they designed this pistol, and it isn't unreasonable to expect some glitches with new designs. Personally, I checked out the P250 (the "2Sum"), but it just didn't suit me for a variety of reasons. The new Sig 516 on the other hand ... love it. Can't wait to buy one. I think the OP will be happy with his purchase.

I guess you could call me a fan of Sig, true enough -- but I also love Dan Wesson, Colt, Kimber, and Smith & Wesson. My Colt and DW 1911's are probably my favorites.
