That video was hard to watch. Not because of what Bill said, but to see Bill in that kind of condition. A sweatshirt and not clean shaven on CNN? That's not the Bill Cosby I know.

I don't necessarily disagree with Cosby. He says people should have a right to defend their families in their homes. He's not for banning guns altogether. He makes a valid point in what he expects from his neighborhood watch people (to observe, report, and call for backup).

As for the "click" that people get in their head when they start to personally carry, I can't speak to that since I don't carry (yet). I would have to believe that some people brandish a firearm to stop an argument or to get their way, but I think those people would do it regardless of gun laws. I also think that those people would also probably not have the proper CHP or be in possession of an illegal gun too.

You know if anything carrying a weapon had made me even more of a cool cool cucumber.

I can't speak for Mr. Zimmerman whoe primary mistake I see as getting out of his car. A mistake that does not rise to th level of batman license or criminality. But as he says he went back to his car and yelled for help before he shot mr. Martin it seems he did try to not use his weapon and didn't have the cick in his head.

Cosby needs to stick to jello pops. Black women need the legal ability to be able to defend themselves from ex-boyfriends, thieves, and other miscreants. Does he really think that the mom of three who carries because her ex-neighbor is stalking her has a click in her head? Please Mr. Cosby you are on own as a reasonable person, don't speak and mess that up.

My parents used to play Bill's records (you know, those round, flat shiny things?) on the "HiFi" and we would laugh hysterically; Why is There Air? To Russell, My Brother. And of course, "hey, Hey, HEY!!! Iiiiit's Fat Albert!!!!"

Some of his new messages are spot on - he rails against black men who father umpteen children and wander off. He scolds black women who take anyone to bed. All good, needed messages. However, here he crosses the line into territory of which he knows nothing. This was nothing more than a pitiful cry of; "Hey! I'm here too!"

Cosby's no spring chicken. Maybe he's getting senile.

Bill was just too confusing for me. Who are the people who can't afford a decent meal and get a illegal gun put in their hands? Why is it acceptable to have a gun to protect yourself in you home "because people on drugs really don't care ... and will kick your door down" and not acceptable to protect yourself outside your abode. I guess that when you leave your home, you don't have to worry crazy people on drugs attacking you because you are in public. Makes no sense.

I quote Eddie Murphy doing his Richard Pryor impression from his first stand up movie: "Tell Bill to have a coke and a smile, and shut the (Expletive) up."

"You know if anything carrying a weapon had made me even more of a cool cool cucumber. " 100% AGREE! I become "Caine" from "Kung Fu" when I carry... calm, patient, waiting...

Bills words don't shock me as much as it does others apparently. His son was murdered by a carjacker years ago who shot his son and left him for dead. I do agree with his statement about training to go along with carrying a weapon. I wouldn't give a F-15 to my son and tell him be careful when you fly this thing. I'd make sure he was compitent to fly it first. Common sense should go the distance, but I digress due to a severe lackage of common sense being used today. Btw, I used to love the jello pops. Where are they for sale still? Anyone?
