Happy Boy
With my Taurus PT-111. Was eyeballing the PT-145, but since I already had my Cougar 8045, decided to keep it 9mm for the CC.
So far, I like it! Break down is a little different than some of the other firearms I own where I'm used to just pushing a button and the whole thing comes apart, but I do enjoy the little critter!
For those in the 'Burg area, I'll pass on, this was done using a trade in where Gander Mountain gave me lowball offer for my PT709. Said no thanks and went over to SSG Tactical. Curt there gave me an offer that was over double the amount and the one-on-one service was again, phenomenal.
I'm giving up on Gander when it comes to firearms and/or trades.

We continue to be exasperated by the view, apparently gaining momentum in certain circles, that armed robbery is okay as long as nobody gets hurt! The proper solution to armed robbery is a dead robber, on the scene.

Hi! There's probably several "burgs" here in Virginia, but I was referencing Fredericksburg; although I'm sure Ganders firearm buy back policies are universal.

I had a PT111, but it shot high. I really wanted a Keltec P11, so I traded a guy for one, and I love my P11, shoots great and accurate!

Everything at Gander Mountain costs too much and if they were lowballing you on a trade in it just means that they really know how to stick it to the customer. I will only go there when it comes to fishing lures as they have more of a selection than Walmart. I say we should boycott using the big corporations for our firearms purchases and give the good small business guys our money. If places like Gander get most of the business, it means higher prices for everyone in the end. Not only that but it feels good to not put the money in stockholders hands but rather in the working mans hands. That's what I think about that.
I had a SCAR 17 and 16. I also had a bunch of Glocks and a couple H&K pistols. Oh and a DDM4, but I sold everything when our government told me these dangerous tools can actually hurt someone. Apparently they grow legs and go on killing sprees.

I completely agree scrubber. I shop at our local store here in Fredericksburg (SSG) as much as possible. It is of course more difficult to find a specific item at times, however, I find the local stores are more than willing to do a special order or find something that will work the same. All in all it is nice to enter a store where they know you and they are willing to help not just complying with corporate policies.

Most commercial outfits offer about 40% of what they'll resale it for. SSG seems to be the exception. Good on them! I hope their volume allows them a good margin. I too found them helpfull and friendly.

Dude, if you're looking to upgrade, sell your gun on consignment. I sell guns I no longer need either FTF or on consignment at a couple of local shops. You'll get more money doing it that way than selling to the shop. I got burned on this when I was in my early 20s, I didn't know about consignments so I took big hits on guns I had to sell.
