Gunsmith to accurize AR

Any recommendations on gunsmiths (preferrably in NOVA, or reasonable driving distance) that are good when it comes to accurizing an AR? I have a RRA with a 20" Predator Persuit upper, it will shoot a .36" 5 shot group @100 yds, but not consistently. I've tried just about every bullet and powder combo, so far 53gr Sierra match (#1400) with 25.5gr H335 seems to be the most consistent. I'm sure there are several things that can be done to tighten it up a bit. (besides replacing the shooter )

What trigger are you using? And realistically, getting groups that small consistently is usually up to the shooter. But if you have a heavy trigger, get something lighter! And Hatfield's Gunsmithing in Manassas does work on ARs, give them a call.

Other thing to try is to shoot it from a rest. Eliminate the shooter as a variable, and see if the inconsistant groups is the Indian or arrow.

How experienced are you with high-precision reloading? Its a bit of a departure from 'normal' reloading, much more fiddly, and is one of those parts of match shooting that gets you that 'little bit' more off of group size.

How small do you want to go, and how much are you willing to pay. Accuracy costs, and it gets fairly exponential as the group sizes get smaller.

If you want to spend $50, well, just learn to enjoy what you have. If you want to spend $5000, then there is plenty that can be done.

Yeah, been doing that. Caldwell rock solid front rest and bag on rear. Pretty decent optics and solid one-piece mount, Accuwedge. I know I have a lot to learn, but can usually shoot 3/4"MOA or less @100yds.

My "high precision" is limited to 100yds, due to range limitations. I think my reloading process is appropriate for this distance. If I were shooting long range, then I would start weighing/seperating brass and bullets, etc. But at this range, it hasnt proven beneficial.

I want better consistency. I know at times I could do a better job, but I feel like I can usually call my shots, and I know the resultant groups should be a lot tighter.

I did find it made some difference for my .338 loads. Each batch of brass seems to have a few very heavy/light vs the others.

There is an informal F-Class shoot at Quantico about once a month. They shoot out to 1000 yards. If you really want to test your skills, load the heavier 77gr SMKs and see how far you can shoot accurately.
