Glock 26

Post by Kory »

I had some trouble with my glock 26 today. I had 5 out of 20 reloads not fire it didn't look like the primer was being well dented. They did not have the normal rectangle on them just what i would consider a sallow depresion strange thing was that it only hapenned imeadiatly after firing a reload (i.e. reload fires, reload clicks, rack reload fires, reload clicks, rack reload fires, reload clicks, rack reload fires or factory fires, reload fires, reload clicks, rack reload fires). What could cause this? I'm new to reloading and to glocks. I did not have a chance to see if the dudes would fire after being reloaded because...

The front sight came lose I caught it before it came off thank ALLAH is that something that needs tightend with Locktight/nailpolish, or do I need to take it some where?

I dont know much about reloading but do know about glocks. So I would not be able to offer advise on reloading side other then comparing the primer dents on a spent casing and a FTF casing. Field strip the glock, with the slide in hand without the barrel or recoil spring in place hold the firing pin safety with your thumb and that should allow the firing pin to protrude from the breech face. You can also shake the slide in your hand while pressing the firing pin safety and you will hear and see the pin moving. Inspect the pin for free moving or damage. As for the sight just put a little loctite on there. I put it on every time i put sights on.

Good luck

The reloads could be a result of using Small Rifle Primers instead of Small Pistol primers, Rifle Primers are harder and therefore require more force to set off the primer. It could also be caused by seating the Primer too Deep in the pocket of the Shell.

As for Sights, WTF? I've never had a Glock Sight come loose. Was the Gun Dropped at any point? Are they aftermarket Sights that someone installed? Granted Glock Factory Sights are just Plastic, But they work, I've owned Glocks since the 80's and have never found much of anything to go wrong, more or less Sights falling off.
