I just recently purchased a stag arms AR15 5.56 and took it to my local gun range earlier today and brought some ammo of my own but couldn't use it because the range wouldn't allow. The indoor range is not set up for anything that shoots over 1800 fps and will allow you to shoot your rifle but they sell their own "frangible" 5.56 ammo. I ran 60 rounds through this AR and a few times had problems with the ammo not firing and giving me problems.
Has anyone else out there ever experienced a similar situation with their AR using this kind of ammo?
Look forward to hearing back about this.
Thank you

Re: 5.56 Nato Range Ammo
How new/ used is the rifle?? Did you lube it up enough? How old are your mags? To new they might be stiff, old and the spring does not get the round in place in time. Either way you need to break it in for all the parts to wear down a little and function smoothly.
Look unimportant, the enemy might be low on ammo.
Re: 5.56 Nato Range Ammo
The rifle is used from a local gun shop where I bought it but in very good condition and not fired much previously. The gun was lubed up good, although the magazines that I have are both brand new for the gun...hmmm!
Maybe the mags just need to be broken in as you mentioned, it just gave me problems with the first round being fired a couple of times out of firing 60 rounds through it otherwise did several multiple bursts and no problems there. Gun really shoots well and is accurate.
Thanks for the reply and suggestions.
