I need assistance.... Went to the Dulles Gun Show this week and was refused purchase for a pistol. Seems VA finds 20+ year old misdemeanors to be just as bad as a Felony. I own guns, I also hold a conceal permit for VA! Yes, I said a conceal permit, but now I find myself dealing with a problem of not being able to purchase. I own already, I feel insulted and will not take this sitting down. I need a lawyer referral from someone please that knows VA gun Law. The Misdemeanor is located in PA and not VA. Any insight would be apprecaited.
In the eyes of PA, where I commited the stupid act 20+ years ago, they still will let me purchase and register and carry a pistol! As will other states throughout our great country.
I fear ATF will visit my home soon and need to get on this quick. I was even directed by the VA State Police to "work on this fast".

Re: Assistance, legal referral or advice
Did you answer all questions on the state form and ATF 4473 truthfully in regards to your criminal history?. If so, then I doubt you are in any kind of trouble.
However, failing to answer these questions truthfully may be a problem. The best thing you can do is contact one of the attorneys on the Gun Friendly Attorney list.
You should be able to find one close to you.

Sounds like you need a lawyer and not an internet forum.
Be very careful what you post, the internet never forgets...

Go down this checklist and see if any apply to your situation:
Virginia Firearms Purchase Eligibility Test
Where misdemeanors are concerned, #6 or #18 are usually the sticking point, unless it was a juvie offense.
