They just released a video on You tube explaining their position.
You might want to go there and dislike it.
One did, and it passed, and I'm happy. I'm just shocked that the "producer members" (not me, I just have homeowner's insurance through them) voted in such a way that Farm Bureau's official stance is against Sunday hunting. Where I live, the farmers want nothing more than ALL DEER TO DIE on their property.Hocktl wrote: when one on sunday hunting comes up
That's really all the reason that should be needed. There are too damn many deer in this state, we should be slaughtering them wholesale.meak99 wrote:Sunday hunting's purpose isn't solely to bring the deer population down...
Yeah it's really confusing why they take the position they do. What gets me is they support damage stamps and there are farmers here that pile them up like cordwood. All going to waste. All "legal and proper". Something smells fishy and they are putting a smoke and mirrors twist on this. There is money somewhere. Dang if I can figure out where it is though.Diomed wrote:That's really all the reason that should be needed. Farm Bureau, of all businesses, should be in favor of culling the crap out of the deer population. Or do they like paying out on all those deer-versus-automobile claims? And do actual farmers file claims for crop damage inflicted by the marauding deer herds? Very unusual for a company to act contrary to their financial interests.
I'm sure "following the money" would reveal what's going on, but I have no idea how to go about doing that (nor much interest in doing so, since I have no relationship with Farm Bureau and don't hunt).Hocktl wrote:There is money somewhere. Dang if I can figure out where it is though.
Don't hunt, never hunted, never plan on it but I second this.Diomed wrote:That's really all the reason that should be needed. There are too damn many deer in this state, we should be slaughtering them wholesale.
