Thanks Rick. Bummer we missed Seth, he was right there at the rifle range! LOL

But again, thanks for your time. We will get our application in next week.

I missed the party but would love to hear any reports about what you liked at the club. I visited one of their gun shows that they sponsored recently and was really impressed with the helpfulness of the members and officers that I met. Were deer hunting prospects good?

I missed the opportunity to attend the tour. What were the facilities like? How were other members that were there? Any info from those that got to attend would be great.

Rick-Do you know when you will be able to schedule another tour?

It was the last day of deer season, and there were a few people hunting the property while we were there. Not sure if they came home with anything or not.

I would definitely like to do this again, but it will depend on the weather. We just happened to have a freakishly warm weekend this time around. I may do it again in March or April. Not sure yet.

EagleFrq - hard for me to say anything bad since I know so many members in the club. If I were going to look at it best I could with an outsider's perspective, I would say:

PROs: Lots of land, available hunting areas, 3 nice ranges, another range being put up - lots of freedom to enjoy time out there and shoot

CON: dues are expensive first 9 years of membership (~$250 a year), but if you compare it to a cost of a normal range (like The Range in Fredericksburg @ $16/hr), then it is much more enticing. Plus, you have to take into account that your family can come in with you at no additional cost.

The people I know in the club are wonderful and great resources when it comes to questions or supplies.

Hope this helps.

Mike

@MNewkirk: thanks for the info.

Other than range facilities, is there anything available for spouses or kids? Clubhouse, fishing, etc... Foetunately, my wife enjoys shooting and we don't have kids, but that might not be the same for others.
