Merry Christmas!
Hi I'm a new member to the forum.
I've just moved to Washington DC, with my wife, for work. We used to live in Los Angeles CA.
I'm really fortunate to have found this forum.
Previously I've owned several 1911s.
I've sold them right before I've moved here. Now that I'm all settled in, I'm looking to purchase a handgun.
Can someone recommend a nearby gun store in VA?
Am I allowed to buy a handgun at the store in VA since I am a resident of DC?
Thanks a million!
Best wishes,
Josh

You can purchase firearms in Virginia, but the VA dealer has to ship to a dealer in D.C. (I think there's only one). Then you will have to jump through all the necessary hoops to transfer the firearm to you as a D.C. resident.
I'm no expert on that process, but I have heard that it's a long and difficult one.

Welcome!
You would be better off if you could quickly move to Virginia. DC is going to be a nightmare for you.
