Hello, I just joined your forum though I have read many post's here, my name is Jeff Bourgeois and I live in Norfok, Im a Life Member of the NRA and support the second amendment and lawful gun ownership, and lawful gun owners! I have a type 7 Federal Firearms License and Im starting a new gun shop. I have a retail store in Virginia Beach, Im trying to get it opened and build an inventory (slowly but surely) , Im painting and working on carpet and trying to turn it into a place I can be proud of. Im not one the BIG guys on the block but I dont have the overhead either, Ive always wanted to own a gun store and now I get my chance! I have a business partner hes a great guy named Brian, we currently have day jobs together and have many many years of firearms experience between us. We do NOT charge credit card fees either as many dealers do, I understand why they do (it cost us to accept credit cards), but I consider this a cost of doing business and it is my cost NOT yours! Thank you everyone who welcomed me and Thank You All for the well wishes on my new business! As I said I have been a long time reader of this site and Im proud to be a new member so Thank You All Again for making me feel welcome! I gotta say going through the process to get my FFL has been an experience LOL. Lots of hoops to jump through but Ive wanted to do it all my life! It is sooo much to go through but so worth it!! I love being able to help new shooters get started and give advice on things it has taken me a lifetime to learn. And just to think I learn something new everday it is amazing. I love this industry and the people who have so much to share! It is hard to fathom how much mis information there is out there about guns! I think gun safety starts with the parents FIRST! My Dad who was and is the BEST example of a Dad I have ever found taught me as a kid about gun safety, always loaded, never point at anything you dont to destroy ect... I got to hold his guns with his permission when I asked to and ONLY then ! I often tell people, when I was a kid I did alot of things that teenagers do hehe, I had to deal with bullies and all that in school, I won some fights and yes I lost some as we all do! But the thought of touching one of my Dad's gun's NEVER entered my mind, back then when we lost a fight we had to face our friends and our selves and we did it!! This is how I have tried to raise my kids, I just wish I was as good as my Dad at being a Dad!!! So here's to all us Dad's and Mom's lets be as good as ours were!!
