Anyone have any experience with a Sig Sauer p250?

Post by Riposite »

I was looking at Sig's recently, and the P250 looks intriguing. Does anyone out there have any experience with them? Are they a good gun? Are certain calibers better than others?

I bought the compact model in 40 S&W back in June. Probably the best ergonomics of any gun I've ever encountered. I ended up selling it though because the slide wouldn't lock back a lot of the time after firing the last round. I looked this up and it appears to be fairly common.

I bought a compact in 40 and liked it so much I traded it for a Ruger lcp...the trigger pull on the sig is as long as your arm and while it did feel good in my hand I really didnt enjoy shooting it

If you can get over the relatively heavy and long trigger pull it's not that bad of a gun. I recommend shooting or getting to dry fire one first so you know what I'm speaking of. Reliability and accuracy are up to par with the competition.

I have a sub-compact in 9mm and I like it a lot. Yes, the trigger pull is long, but you get used to it pretty quickly. Also, I have about 500 rds downrange and the trigger has lightened up considerably. It's now my primary EDC.

I tested a student's 250 a few weeks ago and didn't care for the trigger.

ProShooter tested mine out when I took his Defensive Pistol 1 course. It is a p250 9mm Compact(flat rail). I have over 800 rounds through it with no failures. Like others have said it has a long trigger pull that will put you off target if you don't practice with it.
